My problem is that my back gate is four inches thick, and I want a cylinder on each side. Unfortunately, the thick door kit does NOT work when you have two cylinders. Each control lever that comes out of the cylinders can fit together in the deadbolt structure, but the extended one from the kit takes up the entire hole. I'm considering attempting to bind them together with steel wire and epoxy but I have no clue if that would work. Or maybe I should just get the one sided one, my thinking is that someone could climb into the back patio, steal my motorcycle or something else, then unlock from the inside which is why I want locks on both sides

As someone who investigates break-ins, it's EXTREMELY rare that someone jumps a fence because they have no idea what's on the other side or if they'll be able to get back. I wouldn't recommend trying to epoxy the lock. I've never seen that work. Is it possible to modify the inside of the gate where the lock is installed, so that it's only 2" thick in that location but still the same on the outside? Like a recessed box. Does this work with smart locks? Keypads with wifi?

None that I've seen. The driver bar on all the smart locks I've installed are completely different and not removable as far as I'm aware. Perhaps check with Schlage or a locksmith. Thanks for watching.
