You say the loctite is not permanent and can be removed with heat. If that’s the case, when firing the rifle, won’t the barrel get hot and then the loctite also get hot and will no longer be securing the threading?

Another way to ensure you’ve got the hole of the gas block/gas port properly lined up - run a 15” length of 0.05” string trimmer line or fishing line through the gas tube from the receiver end, then look through the barrel with a light. You should see the end of the line in the barrel coming through the gas port hole. If not, you’ve done something wrong.

Reason why I'm on your page cuz today was the first one of this brand I installed today, cuz everybody's been telling me how great they are so my curiosity always gets the best of me. So I have to test it out for myself so I putting it on one of my AR15s before the rest of my 15s & 10's I own looks like a great design compared to the rest. What's your opinion?

On the barrel with the undrilled port, that looks like one of those crappy Davidson Defense uppers. I've seen that compensator on many terrible uppers. If you're working with an undimpled barrel, remove the front set screw and put that hole over the gas port. You'll know how the block will sit against the shoulder when the gas port is centered.

Ya should be .025 gab forward from the back cut from the machine line of shoulder on the barrel from what the product explains to make sure it's lines up with gas hole, especially if you don't have a pre drill marker hole for set screw.

Looked like a .75 inch adjustable block, diameter 1.383 inches. Looks like many of lightweight hand-guards are 1.3 inches inner diameter Aero and Midwest. I take these won't work with this gas block? I have ordered the gas block but really want the Midwest rail. Don't want to order until I have some clarification. Thanks in advance.

I have a NBS 16" 5.56 NATO 1:7 Twist Black Nitride Mid-Length Barrel. it has a .750 gas block journal. It actually measures .749. I ordered an assembled .750 Low Profile Micro Gas Block And Mid Length Gas Tube. It actually measures .748, so it only slides up the barrel a couple of inches before stopping. Anybody else run into a situation like this, and if so how did you overcome it? some people i have talked to about it have said freeze the barrel and heat the gas block. Or would it just be easier to try another .750 gas block?

What determines the need to reduce gas pressure? Would simply swapping to a slightly heavier buffer do the same job?

On my first upper build. Doing it with only hammer and roll pin punches. I put the pin in partially with the punch that wrapped around it. Then used the 2nd punch to put it the rest of the way. Long story short the roll pin bent and split. Assume I moved the tube so wasn’t lined up. Anyone know the roll pin size because I need to buy some extras now.

If you don't have a dimple to set the one bottom screw in place, how do you know when the gas port is properly aligned up top? how do you know how far back or forward on the barrel to install?

Built an ar recently. When I was shooting I got carbon on my thumb from gas coming out of the gas tube roll pin. Is that normal? My ruger mpr also has gas marks on the handguard near the roll pin from the same thing.

Watched a few people that said the hole will only be impinge if you do it as you did. You can but up the block to the lip and still have your clecleabr l

I have never used lock tight on my gas blocks in the 25 years of shooting AR15's .Over a 1000 mag dumps and still on strong. I just torque the set screws down to 40 inch lbs. Never an issue but you do you. Thanks for helping others.

Except that ... red loctite breaks down with heat. Better than nothing, but pinned is always best option.

No roll pin punch in front of me??...I'm a regular joe and I only use roll pin punches on the roll pins on my rifles. A regular punch will always work though.

You should have let everybody know what brand that Barrel was where they didn't drilled properly for the gas hole, that's pretty sad the machinist didn't check behind himself or if it's a laser drill machine that actually doing it for them artificial intelligence does make errors? on top of everything else that's a priority to do inspections.

Why use red loctite on a barrel. If you actually run the AR it’s going to get hot and turn it to dust anyway.

Red Loctite??? Oh God no!!! Besides Red Loctite is only good up to 450 F, which is why you need to heat it up with a torch if removing the screw. Any rapid firing AR platform can reach that temp. If I NEVER intend to remove the gas block again, I "might" use Red, if there is any chance that I'm gonna need to remove the block I wouldn't use Red Loctite. As a side note, I've heard that you can use Brake Parts Cleaner to dissolve Red Loctite. Just spray it on and let is soak for about 45 mins. CRC was the brand that was mentioned. I haven't tested it myself, but there are KZfaq videos about it.

The Title of your video is "How to install a low profile gas block." This is probably the most uninformative video I've see on You Tube. I really wish I could stop finding videos that claim to be something they clearly are not. If you're not going to do the video you claim you're doing then don't post one at all. Total waste of time.
