In this video I have removed a set of washerless faucets and installed a set of Moen single lever faucets. I also change the shut-offs, sink drain and p-trap.

I never thought of putting teflon on the drain. Great advice.

Hello Evan; Teflon is the secret to a water tight drain especially on the basin. If you don't use it and fill the sink to the overflow; there is a very good chance that it will leak below. Wow! What a GREAT video!!! I am a female DIY'R NOT afraid to tackle ANY type of home project. I've been reno-ing a house. Need to put 3 faucets/plumbing in the new sinks in both bathrooms. THANK YOU for showing me HOW to do it!! I KNOW I can DO IT!!! :)

Hi Al! Sorry its taken so long to get back to you. I DID IT!!! YEAH!! I got ALL 3 sinks plumbing and faucets hooked up!! Of course with YOUR help!! My contractor said I did a better job than his guys and he said he'd hire me!! Lol. Thanks again for the awesome video! You Tube is my lifesaver to show me how to DIY it myself!! Many thanks! Julie

Thank you so much for this video. The Moen installation guides are pretty well setup to be universal for their faucets, all the while making the 20 second videos and instruction manual useless if your faucet is anything different than their "standard universal installation" type faucet.

Love moen's products. I did a Delta in my kitchen, and yes it was an easy install, but then I turned on the water. I won't go into a long winded rant here but I'm sure the boss is getting sick of the black rubber particales the keep coming out at the base. Moen will be my choise to replace it. Anyway you did a great job on this video. One thing was the plumbers puddy under the drain . Unless I missed it. I saw you take out after tighting . Kkeep up the great work , and if you do a kitchen with a Moen please make a video of it! I need all the help I can get! Thanks for sharing.

Hello billfromelma; You are more then welcome and thanks very much for the kind words! I am perhaps the biggest Moen fan on the planet! That has been my go to manufacturer for many years now. Excellent product! I did remove the excess putty from around the drain in the sink once I tightened it in place. There is always excess in the sink. based on what i see there.that home has a water issue. i would recommend installing a water conditioner. this will assist in removing the limescale.

Hello canadianbeech, I removed the trap adaptor nut and ended up using the old trap adaptor nut and ferrule. The chrome trap that was on the sink was very thin. I could squeeze it with my hand and turn it oval. Sure sign it doesn't have to much life left in it. Thanks for commenting and have a great week! Al

Hello Colt; I have been a huge Moen fan for many years. I have been installing them for a few decades now. Excellent product! I was recently in a newer home and they had Delta throughout the house. I am just going to say the homeowner was not impressed with them. Was disappointed to see that myself. Delta have a great reputation, but I am now sure what happened in this situation. Crane use to be my go to faucet many years ago, but I had heard they began manufacturing south of the border and the quality dropped way off; so I changed over to Moen and haven't looked back. Bo Hemley I usually go with teflon myself if I have any issues as far as a leak goes and it will help prevent the mineral exposure as well. Never used the pipe dope on the compression before. Thanks for commenting and have a great week! Al

Hello skoronesa , I would never change part of a P.O.plug. Always change the tailpice. They break off about 90 % of the time when you touch them. Do it nice or do it twice. Thanks for commenting and enjoy the day! Al

Great vid. So you repaired a faucet in canada somewhere. Woo-hoo. Please use dahl eco valves next time. They are far superior. Also the knipex cobra are great but a really nice tool (yes, that I have owned for years) is the knipex pliers wrench. Why? Cuz it won't scratch the chrome. Also, surprised you didn't use flood safe! I like the teflon tape trick to keep things water tight. I prefer silicone under the drain assembly versus putty. But each has its place. Thanks again.

Hello Dave; I changed a set of basin faucets. I always use Teflon on the drain. Only way to make sure there are no leaks on the drain when the basin is filled to the overflow. I have been using putty for 35 years now and have had no issues thus far. If silicone works for you; fill your boots. At the end of the day; you want a water tight drain. Basin wrenches suck. They all suck. I have tried several, including the big R and they all suck. One of these days I might mutilate some big sockets muahahaha!!

Hello skoronesa , You are too late on that invention. Already been made. Socket slides up over the nut and turns about a quarter of a turn. Drop it down and make another 1/4 turn. Guy sent me the site the other day. Have a good one. Al

Ewww....1/2" compression fittings! So when they try to use the valve down the road the whole valve unscrews! Yipee! Good to go? You put the stops on upside down and the supply lines are way out there!

Hello skoronesa , Compression valves work well and they don't screw out as easily as you are stating. I have installed thousands with no problems. I ALWAYS snug down the nut once it is installed and you have no worries of that happening. You probably know that though. You must have something else to do besides going around and bashing videos. I have been at this trade (40 years) probably longer than you have been alive and stand behind my work. Have a good day! Al

I don't like compression fittings, but you are correct, they do work well enough. They use them all the time in europe. But what do you do when you need to replace it? You have an olive puller? How about when the pipe is too short? I prefer sweat stops. Even with all that aside, those supply lines look like butterfly wings. With all that room why not use hard lines? I could give you crap for the cheap plastic tailpiece. If you have time to put out videos I certainly have some spare time to critique them. Don't show the world your face and get mad because we noticed your unibrow.
