excellent set up video. As a man of precision I insist on perfection. This set up is critical for pricey stylus, lp long life, and the best cleanest sound possible. Can't thank you enough.

Wish this had been available when I was fumbling around setting up the same cartridge!

Very glad I’ve discovered your channel, as I’m about to try installing a £300 cartridge, easily the most expensive one I’ve ever owned, and I really don’t want to mess it up!

Thanks for showing the set up. I have downloaded and printed the Rega Stevenson protractor many times, but have been unable to get the measurements 140mm and 200mm correct. If you were able to, how did you set the software to print it correctly?

It must be super slow out your way. It has dried up here. Just selling on ebay these days. Nice to see another vid. It is a nice turntable. I always install the headsehell wires before the screws. It helps keep it together as my hands/ fingers are extra large and easier to manipulate / pop the terminals on to the posts. I have a couple original Technics alignment gages that you pop the assembly in and align the stylus with the grove. That VTA adjustment is slick. Look forward to the next video.

Yeah, at first I put the screws on the head shell before the wire being connect and it was harder to connect the wires. So yeah, connect the wires first and then screw on the cartridge to the head shell bc it’s easier to get the wires on when it’s still not connected and the wires free. Also it came with this tube to cover the connections and I put them over the front 4 post on the cartridge, but I think it was suppose to go on the tone arm 4 posts I don’t think it makes that much of a difference, but I switch it out and I have the screw off head shell which makes it much easier than the stationed tone arm tip.

I have one of those in my box of tricks. You put the headshell in and pin slides in the groove. The other end gives the vertical alignment by showing where stylus shoulɓnd align in the groove in its other end.

Best of a lot of videos I have watched thank you but, how would you correct inaccurate azimuth, your saying just tighten one screw a little more?
@TurntableGuy2 ай бұрын
Really depends on your tonearm. If it's a removable headshell, loosening the collar allows you to tilt it a little bit left and right.

Great video, I'm still confused as how to achieve "perfectly square".

What protractor do I need for a kenwood pc-350?

Complete and total newbie here, thank you for your very informative video! May I ask, if I purchase a pre-mounted cartridge, would I simply attach it and follow your instructions starting with tracking force adjustment?
@TurntableGuy7 ай бұрын
Yes, but you will need to align the cartridge in the headshell for your model of turntable.

Hi, great video thanks a lot for that. Would you happen to know what the tip of the needle to the gasket measurement in mm for a Denon DP 30 L headshell/turntable? Is it the same 52mm as technics ?
