1 We install pillows outside and have not had an issue with any rodents, cats, dogs etc. 2 The pillow is able to withstand freezing but unfortunately the pipes and pumps must be prevented from freezing. Outdoor pillow systems need to be drained in freezing locations or other protections need to be provided. 3 The pillow is filled with harvested rainwater from the roof not municipal water. 4 Return on investment is determined by the amount of water you use. Each system has a different ROI 5 A single container is always better then multiple containers because each container requires a minimum of 3 fittings. 10 (50gal.) rain barrels require 30 fittings and fittings are the location of most system leaks whatever system you install. One pillow with 3 fittings is made to fit your available space.

edit: I take back what I said. In every plant study I've looked at - for the specific purpose of plants, it appears any rainwater is superior to city water. I'd still be careful with consumption in certain areas. Depends on the state and global wind patterns. Rainwater is great in Oregon, New mexico, Texas, etc. I wouldn't recommend it in: eastern Ohio, PA, NY, etc, because of coal power plants and mines. Haven't done any testing though. Likewise, groundwater probably isn't a good idea in Oklahoma, West Texas, or heavy fracking areas. Only so much barium one should absorb. Tricky thing water is these days, especially with all the pharmaceuticals.

I live in the Ohio River valley and we've seen nonstop rain for about ten days .. when it's raining reasonably hard, the barrel is full and overflowing coming out of a hose end at the bottom, and a 2.5" overflow at the top.. I hope the homeowner didn’t have to pay for this. 2 used food grade IBC totes will get you close to 700 gallons and you could put them up on cinder blocks to gravity feed the water, eliminate the pump and save electricity. And that thing is ugly, will likely puncture when a rock thrown by the lawnmower or trimmer hits it. I like TOH, but the landscape ideas they have sometimes baffles me.

this pillow crap is stupid, flexible pipes can kink and the pillow is just stupid, ever had a waterbed? they always leak eventually. just use some 300 gallon ibc totes

water beds only leak because people sleep or they bounce on them having sex. These pillows don't have people laying or bouncing on them so they may last longer.

No, no way! I know and have seen much better sustainable ways to collect rainwater, but this... This's definitely not one of them! 🤷🏽‍♂️👎🏽
