This video demonstrates how to connect a VFD to Masso by breaking the process down into small steps.. Starting with reducing your VFD diagram from the manufactures comprehensive and some what confusing diagram to a simple diagram with only a handful of connections. Next we configure the VFD for external control and test to make sure it is all working as it should. We then draw a connection diagram for our VFD to Masso.
Finally we connect and test as we go. If we followed all the steps then the connection to Masso is the simplest part of the entire process and you will be up and running in no time.

A link to this video needs to be added to the MASSO spindle documentation. You have kept it simple with enough detail that anyone with slight understanding of electrical wiring can follow. Thanks for your great videos.

Another excellent video. Your videos helped me build my first home-brew CNC router system years ago. Now I'm expecting a Onefinity with the Masso controller in a few weeks and again, your videos are a great help. One question about this video, as it was recorded in 2019, is there anything different when setting up a Huanyang VFD with the current version of the Masso controller?

Industrial cnc routers have locating pins to accurately position the stock. The locating pins can be risen and lowered as needed. Can masso work with locating pins and how?

why not a single pole - double throw switch? based on the diagram, you can potentially have both selected.

I am new to CNC and got everything done as per the video (and lots more to understand the VFD parameters better). I got the POT working fine, however in Masso when hitting the Spindle CCW, STOP, and CW nothing happens on screen let alone with spindle terminals 1-7. Am I missing something to turn on in software?

Just for those that also jumped the gun, Next video explains the dooropen prevents spindle running/control. So Problem solved. Thanks again for these very good videos 👌

My vfd shows over load when I use spindle cw and ccw option on f2 screen with cycle percentage. But when I open mdi comand it run normally what is happening here. And another question is why my masso display turn off when I start the spindle

I noticed your RPM in the spindle box reads zero when the spindle is turning. I've attached my VFD analog speed output to the analog inputs of the Masso. I still can't seem to get a reading. Is the Analog input function in the Masso functional? Thanks!

If you want to see the spindle speed on the MASSO screen you need to attach an encoder to the spindle or if you have a pulsed output from your spindle you can feed that into the A encoder to see the speed as mentioned in the Encoder part of the documentation. I don't think the analogue output from the VFD represents the spindle speed but rather the requested spindle speed which is already on the screen.
