This is a small video to show how I install a watch bracelet that has very tight clearances between the lugs. This works for other brands of watches also.
Thanks for Watching!

To echo the rest of the comments - got frustrated after an hour of trying to put my bracelet back on. Walked away, watched your video and I was able to do it within 5 minutes of viewing. Thank you so much.

After nearly an hour of struggling with my watch bracelet I finally watched your video. The uneven placement of the spring bar technique and seeing the way your held the watch steady really helped. The challenge then was actually holding the end links firmly in place without moving them as i used the spring bar tool: NOT EASY! Only took about a further 5 mins after that so thanks for the tutorial!

I fiddled with installing the spring bar on a Helm watch for 90 minutes. Within 5 minutes I installed 2 spring bars on 2 band ends after viewing this video. I can’t thank you enough!!!! 5 stars!!!!!!!!

Thanks for this. I've managed to swap out countless bracelets and straps without ever being stymied. Was on the verge of giving up until watching your video. That trick with the spring bar did it! Thanks again.

Thank You! I spent over an hour trying and failing. I watched the video and that gave me the way. I did make a modification due to my shaking hands, and I offer it for those who might have a similar problem. I thread a strand of wax covered dental floss through the holes in the bracelet, then put in the pin---the floss held the pin in place until I got everything in, and then the floss was easy to pull out.

You can definitely use dental floss to remove difficult spring bars.

I needed to guide the unsecured side into position with a razor blade. My watch has a gap of a fraction of a millimeter. It helps too if you have a small vice to hold the watch steady.

This only works when the end link allows you to come in at an angle like that. Many end links do not have the "slop" to allow that angular approach.

On my watch, the end link won’t fit between the lugs unless it is inserted exactly square to the lugs. So I couldn’t use the traditional springbar tool as this involved having the end link in on one side and outside the lug on the other while using the spring bar tool. This was One where I needed to buy the tweezer type instrument because then I could depress both ends of the spring bar and insert the end link of the bracelet completely ‘square’.

With some it is best to first seat the bracelet evenly with the springbar against the lug then gently slowly push in one side of the pin until it seats then the other side of the pin and it should drop right in the holes. Or get a “pinching” spring bar tool

What do you do when one end of the spring bar refuses to latch into the hole, it’s off to the side a bit and isn’t seated in the hole even tho the end link perfectly fit in between the lugs.

Push it over towards the hole with a toothpick or push pin.

@@HisMajesty99 are you using the correct spring bars?
@HisMajesty99
@HisMajesty99 Жыл бұрын
@@utewatchco1468 yup, the ones that came with the strapcode bracelet itself. I also tried using the spring bars that came with the original bracelet, which are thinner, and still the same issue. Tbh I think the strapcode bracelet I received is off tolerance or something. My original strap went back on easily within seconds.
