Hello and thank you for showing me a video of how easy it is to remove some links in a watch. I especially found the explanation of the direction of removing and reinserting the split pin design really helpful. Without seeing this, I would simply have forced them back in the wrong way round. Also your 'zoom-in' so we could see the little holes was really clear. Thanks once again

A first-rate video showing precisely how to size a split-pin bracelet. Rob, your videos on how to change straps and size bracelets of different kinds are really helpful. Could you do one on how to change from a strap to a bracelet? Attaching a bracelet seems much more difficult than attaching a strap, especially bracelets with curved end-links Thank you for these videos.

I did it for the first time this week and I nearly had a nervous breakdown. I've taken a few bracelets off but never tried to put one back on until now. If I ever do it again I'm going to have to get some kind of watch holder and a couple of quality spring bar tools.

Split pins are the best, never have to worry about losing a collar, I actually just sized 2 watches today, one pin and collar, and one split pin.. I didn’t even have to tap the pins in with pin tool and mallet, just gently hammered the pin flush to link, then push the pin in the rest of the way with just the pin tool and my hand. Done!

Somehow I know why I love throwing my watches on Nato straps. This fiddling around may be fun. But even putting my Orient Mako 1 back on its original bracelet drove me nuts. This bracelet is even cheaper looking than the ones you have shown here.

Thank you for the video. I have a small project I'm working on and it looks like these split pins will be exactly what I need. Can you tell me why they're only supposed to go into the links in one specific direction? Is it something to do with the hole in the link? If so then it makes me wonder, would a split pin work in a regular cylindrical hole, or is there something special with the hole that works in tandem with the split pin?

Rolls came off the pin every time, put the roll back on with some difficulty and now it refuses to go back in the hole on the opposite side, the pin goes in but the roll just sits on the outside and refuses to go in on my Casion Lineage, not sure what to do I think hammering on it will just flare it, definitely not so easy on this watch.

I lost pin and collar on my Seiko and used a Split pin which I opened up a bit for friction, so far it’s holding, should I trust it to stay in the chain, I daily shake my watch chain to try detect the pin falling out, so far it’s staying in.
