With that tall tank, I would feel a bit happier with some back braces down to the chassis rails. Yes, I am a structural engineer who designed dozens of Unistrut frames on the Underground in my younger days. 🙂

I wonder why they have a tall tank, and not a low wide long one that sits flat on the floor. 1.2 x 1 x 0.42 high would sit nicely between the wheel arches and pushed up behind the seats. Then a platform on top for the rest of the stuff.

@davidnorton5887 I believe that is to do with "slop" aka the water sloshing about under acceleration/braking. Larger surface area, the more "slop" you get, which equates to force forwards and backwards on the vehicle.

@@mitchchandler3604 That's true, although the tank should be made with baffles, just like the upright one, plus the centre of gravity will be lower. Although these little vans can carry 6/700kg, you certainly notice it when driving.

A lid that would pop off the tank under collision conditions would be an idea, better wet than squashed!

You should drop the bolts through from the top, that way if the nuts were to come loose and drop off, the bolt would still be in the hole, offering (minor, granted) some support until you fit another nut. Fitting from underneath means if anything comes loose the bolt falls straight out.
