For under $30 the Eachine Pro58 is a spectacular receiver for your FatShark Dominator or other goggles that use the same module. But, for another $13ish you can load some of the best receiver firmware on the market onto this same module. The only problem is that it is a little tricky. In this video I walk through the process I used for loading the Achilles Firmware onto an Eachine Pro58 receiver.

Just a heads up, my hd3 fatsharks could not give enough power to the module that the st link programmer could connect to it. I had to wire the power into the usb adapter for it to work. On a high note only took two minutes before my download was ready. Thanks for the video. I would like to see a video of the difference between the stock firmware and this upgrade. Thanks bro

I have the green one connected it same as you ...worked ....Happy days, but my problem is I cant do the calibration I have 200 mw vtx it have to be 25mw?

The special thing about the pro58 module is that it contains an overly powerful processor for a receiver module. Because of this, it's able to do many things at high speed. The stock firmware didn't do the processor any justice. I found the quality upgrade to be night and day.

in case you can't disable readout protection -> use 3.3V on the st link - with 5v it didn't and it got pretty warm! i got the "red" version, it arrived today from bg.

I’m doing this today. I used a 3 pin plug spare I had from a whoop motor. That way it’s easy to update the software later with just a plug in of the wires. It was also much easier to solder then wires as they are stiff :)

Very good instructions! Thank you for sharing. I have followed your steps and has just performed the first leg. Waiting for the FW-registration, probably need to wait until tomorrow. No problems so far, you have covered all the important steps, so this is a really great step-by-step description. As you have mentioned the STM board can be different and my has been totatlly different. But I have followed the colours an used the right pins. Happy times!

I had one that would not work. Heard that on some units you need to connect 3.3 volts to the four pin connector furthest left pin. I tried it and it worked! A few other people on RCForums have reported this as well.

On the top of the pad where you soldered the two wires, all the way to the right and then next to that. He means on the far left of those 4 pins if you are looking straight at it. I haven’t gotten to try this myself yet.

Solution for the green tap version - I got one of these non-working PRO58 too but after hours of frustration it works - I had to gently remove the varnish and solder the wires (SWDIO and SWCLC) directly to the conductor tracks . Just remove the varnish for 1-2 mm and not next to each other so that you can solder it without short-circuits. It seems like eachine removed the copper rings around the connection holes ???. IN ADDITION I had to connect the 3.3 V (the very left pin). At least it connects via the connection hole directly. In my humble opinion the pinout (from left to right) is 3.3V, Gnd, SWDIO and SWCLK.

I did, tried connecting to the holes via the normal method and powering the module from my goggles 5v supply and got not response in the STM Linker program

Thanks for this, im picking mine up tomorrow from work and im going to jump straight into this mod, fingers crossed, I learned only after I bought this receiver that its not very good but ive always been one to buy these things and see if those people are just noobs and usually im right. Same with my Fatshark HD2, so many people get edge blur but now I got my hands on a pair I realise the issue is them and not the goggle, after a little 10 minute mod I can see no blur. just nice sharp edges so dont believe mass opinion is my advice.

at the begining when i saw your video and because i got the green screen cover module, the module wasn´t connecting to the program and then i tought i was fucked. But then i touch the stm link cables and it gets connected. ALready tried to flash diferent fw and they all works great without problems. Im abble to flash the green cover module without problems by ST LINK utility program and by STM32CubeProgrammer (different programs to flash or one its more recent then other i dont know). Thank you for the video!!!

@droneracer101 not sure if its the actual cause, but looking at the video, I think i might know why the one with green tape does not work, looks like it might be a manufacturer defect. if you look just above the screen (right side) there is two sets of 3 resistors (or capacitors... not sure, its been a long time since I took any electrical classes and I dont remember ever working with stuff that small) Anyways, the set that are all vertically stacked has one brown capacitor next to 2 black resistors and on the module thats not working it looks like the brown capacitor is all sorts screwed up and not soldered on straight. in fact it might be shorting out on one of the resistors, might be nothing, but my ocd was screaming at me saying "THATS NOT RIGHT AT ALL!" good luck and hopefully they get you a new one that works. time to finish the video.

the "one brown" is in deed a capacitor. more correct an SMD Capacitor. The SMD's in both sides are indeed resistors. I would resolder the capacitor to its correct spot with a fine tipped soldering iron, i would not retin or even try to suck it up with an tin pump as the pump most likely will "swallow" the cap as it is so small. :) Do be careful to not heat the pads too long or they might break their contact to the pcb. This is just good showcase on why cheap electronics are to be avoided. this clearly should not have left the quality control department from eachine. Shame on you eachine!

send me the rx and i will resolder the cap correctly for you. the placement of the cap as seen on 1:33 clearly makes a short between two or even possibly three points. I dont know what is on the opposide part of the pcb but hopefully it has not broken any component yet since it still works with the stock firmware. Do send it to me and will fix the cap situation and check the surrounding resistors for the correct ohm values. i wont charge a dime for it since im a good guy:) . love your videos mate. keep up the good work!

After 26 hours waiting still not working for me... I received an e-mail that my order is completed and I can re-download my firmware. I uploaded it and calibration message has appeared. When I click twice the serial code appears again. What to do? I checked the serial code for five times with that I left in order and they're the same... also EEPROM hex did not help... thanks

So I totally messed up my diatone gt m3 lol I was flying in the parking lot lol all bad and a car pulled out I throttled up and next thing I know I see tree branches and the video cut out. Next thing I know people are running after a car saying that My drone landed on the roof of that car as it drove away on the main street fell off and got ran over by two other cars driving total loss so I ordered another one ☝️ must say held up good the VTX destroyed
