How To Install Adjustable Rear Camber Arms In A BMW E36 M3 [It SUCKS!]

Күн бұрынAfter installing the Apex ARC-8's on my E36 M3, I needed to install the Turner Motorsport Adjustable rear camber arms so I could adjust my rear camber to fit these wheels.

This install is definitely tough but not impossible. The inner camber arm bolts are the hardest part due to the rear diff. If you plan on taking off the rear differential then do this mod at that time. If not...have a pickle fork or something to use for leverage to move the diff!

Haha...I never thought it if that way but you're kinda right! Yeah man...this was definitely one of the more PITA things I've done with this car. Buuut, at least I can fit my wheels now, lol!

2:40 where did you place the Jack on the car to get both left wheels off the ground at the same time? One of my factory female Jack slots is bent and I need to get stands under my car

Great vid, first one to show manipulation of the diff. Not sure if you HAVE to remove the sway bar, though. Also, of you have ramps you can just jack up to them so then you have height and load

Ethan Miles TBH, I’m not sure about the sway bar either. Funny enough, I had the rear end out roughly a month after this video...doing this with the rear end out would have been 1000000% easier. 😂

To get to the rear diff bolts you need to unbolt the 2 13mms that hold the sway bar to the car but you don’t need to remove the endlinks you can just move it enough to not do the endlinks

Bro... I know that this response is old but, Why didn't you think at the time to just put down 2 to 3 wood planks under the tires or jack ramps? I'm like going crazy watching you go crazy about how you were going to tighten the arm bolts with the car on the ground lol! Nice video though.

Do you know if I unbolt the stock arm from the hub if it will swing down a few inches, without unbolting from the diff side? I'm taking these crap KSport coilovers off of my E36 and replacing with KW's. The KSports have a weird spring perch design that bolts from the bottom of the control arm, the head is rounded and I need to cut the bolt out but need a few more inches of space - the stock camber arm is in the way... All this is to raise the ride height to hopefully stop rubbing the sidewall with my Apex wheels, although I'm afraid I'm gonna need adjustable camber arms like you got anyway, just not trying to do that if I don't have to. The KSports are so shot I can't even adjust the height with them anymore.

Chris Fortney Ah man, I hear ya. If I remember correctly, I don’t think it’ll drop that much. Are u just trying to take out the rear spring to replace it with something else?

Well shoot, I'm guessing you've figured it out by now but just incase you haven't, I used leverage to make room to get the bolts out. Did you finish yours?

Are these the race or street arms? What was the NVH like?

Yo! Honestly, I wouldn't say these changed the NVH much at all, if any. They're these: www.turnermotorsport.com/p-304099-bushing-end-ctscc-legal-tsu9940b77/ and do yourself a favor...install these when you're going to drop the diff, lol! It's soooooo much easier, lolol.

@@jpetro Oh yeah that looked like a PITA lol. My subframe is out and the install is like 10 dollars of labor at the shop the car is at so I was looking at these. I went for the race ones and was just wondering what yours were. It looks like you got the street ones. The shop was warning me about NVH but I had heard they aren't that bad. Thanks for the reply!

It made a huge difference! I don’t think I’d be able to run the wheel/tire combo I run without these camber arms. 🤙

Hi, this 17x 9 with et 35 need a rolled fenders? They will not fit ??

Yes, it needs a fender roll and aggressive camber. I'm running about -3.5 up front and -2.9 in the rear👍

J Petro So if I’ll put this wheels can I put down car from the lift , or it’s that bad they will not fit , ?I’m just ready to buy this wheels , and my car already painted all over , just don’t want to mess my fresh paint , but I really likes how they look 17” 9 et30. Thank you

@@vladimirturlak7613 Ooh, if you're not lowered, I think they'll be okay. I just wouldn't drive that hard on them. But yet, you'll be able to lower your car from the lift, just be cautious driving until you get camber and fenders rolled. 👍

Are you running any spacers if so what size?

Only running spacers in the front due to the strut, they're 10mm 👍
