How to Remove/Install e36 Rear Camber Arm Bolt

This is a short video on how I managed to remove the rear camber arm's bolt from an e36. My car is a '97 M3, but should be similar for most e36's. The bolt is hard to get out because it backs out into the differential.
In this video I show how to remove the bolt (or insert the bolt) without having to remove your differential. All you need to do is remove three bolts supporting your differential, and that allows enough play to get the bolt out (or in).
If you have any questions let me know and I'll try to help out.

thanks for the video! doing this one a friends e36 tomorrow and could not find a solid visual representation of the actual work being done and others saying that half shaft needing to be undone as well as the full exhaust needing to be dropped which I thought otherwise! much appreciated man

Carpythesharky yeah man ! went solid ! installed the adjustable kit from turner on there and fixed his squatted camber from lowering it. just a tip for anyone else doing this. to get to the carrier bolts you have to drop the inner rest sway bar links to get your ratchet in there. other then that you can get it done completely

What kind of wrench do I use to get on the nut on the backside of the bolt that holds the camber arm in place and what size is it? Thank you this video was awesome.

The nut on the back of the camber arm (P/N 33326760364) is a "Lock Plate." Basically it's a nut with a flange/wing protruding out of it that will hit up against the side of the camber arm frame preventing it from spinning. This means you do not need a wrench on the "nut" side. Just unscrew the camber arm bolt and the nut will fall off the back. Similarly, to put it back on, just thread it on to the end, then as it tightens enough the flange will hit up against the side, stopping it from spinning, and you can continue tightening the camber arm bolt until completely tight, no need for a wrench on the front and back during tightening. Hope that makes sense, and thanks. Let me know if you have more questions.

Ok when looking at mine it looks like a regular nut and spins when I turn the bolt.

Looks like someone lost the original nut and just replaced it with a regular one. That should be fine, although the point of the lock plate is to make sure it cannot come undone due to vibrations. Maybe some blue loctite or thread tape would be a good idea when you put it back on. But if it's just a nut, I'm sure you can take it off with a wrench on both sides. It's just a little hard to get a wrench in there.

I'm not entirely sure, but if I remember correctly the passenger side camber arm just comes right off, 2 bolts, no problem. The driver's side is harder and requires basically what I did in the video, just different pieces and bolts to undue since it's a different car. You do need to drop the exhaust a bit, but other than that I am pretty sure you can keep the diff, swaybar, drive shaft, and all other suspension parts in place. Don't hold me to that though lol, I haven't done this on an e46 before. Good luck.
