A lot of people have requested an installation video for the Kraken X73 liquid CPU cooler after watching the full review video on the channel. Well, here it is! In this video I'll show you all the steps to get the cooler assembled and installed in your system. The install process can be similar for a lot of other coolers as well, so check this out even if you have a different model.

Good tip about positioning the fans so the connectors face rearward to avoid unsightly cabling. I'm building a gaming PC now and have this cooler and just trial fitted the radiator and fans, I'm going to have to mount the fans around 180 degrees now thanks to your useful tip on this vid🤣🤣🤣 Many thanks for the detailed video, its very helpful.

I just want to point out. I bought this one and was the 2021 edition with lg1200. I used the rubber and spaced it out and fit perfectly in the lg1700 socket.

What if I can’t find my SATA plug or my plug is not compatible with the one thats connected to the fan :( (most of my cords are behind a blockade because its a pre made computer)

Apparently you need to get the LGA 1700 bracket from Intel who will ship it out to you for free

Nobody ever mentions how tight to tighten the thumb screws that hold the cooler down to the cpu.

When I screw the intel standoffs fully into the backplate there is some play in-between the bottom of the standoffs(the thicker none threaded part) and the front of the motherboard, is this normal?

This AIO isn’t the rgb version of the x73

In case of having the rgb version, tou will have to connect the fans to each other, and then to a cable that comes with the kit :)

@@samysanchez6052 to connect them you are gonna need one small cable that says in and out on the sides, and a longer that says the same, then you connect the longer cable to another that is attached to the pump, it is and rgb 4 pin connection.

@@samysanchez6052 you dont have to connect the fans to the motherboard, the cables go attached to the pump, then you simply connect the pump to a sata power cable in your psu and the usb cable (that is also connected ti the pump) to a usb 2.0 connector in your mobo

Why does it have a sata power? I don't get it, we cant control the pump speeds then? My cooler master aio has pump cable which plugs into the mobo pump header.

i just bought nzxt x73 aio but i can't seem to make it work. the pump head has no power. i plugged it in to the usb header. my mobo is b450 gaming plus max cpu ryzen 3200G. i cannot find any 2.0 usb internal connector on this board. i'm not sure if there is any workaround or need to buy a new mobo.

Without an nzxt motherboard how am I able to control the lighting of my nzxt kraken 120 aio through cam? Because I also heard that you are not able to control it using the nzxt rgb controller as that’s specifically for fans and leds…

How do you get the rgb to work ? All my fans are on spinning, and my block head id lighting up with nzxt and the infinite ring is on , but my fans arent rgb ?

I think you need the nzxt controller for the rgb to work, it sucks right..

Real question is can you occupy that first dimm slot with the hoses coming out? Or will you have to orientate the whole block so the hoses aren't in the way?

You will need to orientate it. Ram won't fit.

With the hardware I used in the video (ASUS Z390 Strix & Corsair Vengeance Pro) the tubes are overhanging a little bit, so you'll probably want to change the orientation if you plan to occupy the first dimm slot.

I connected like that and Nzxt logo doesn't lights and cam software doesn't detect the device. However the pump is working because the temps are good however it irritates me that I can't control the speed of the pump

@@scrappergang01 Ight got it all hooked up, you do the the sata and micro, h7 flow can fit two 360 rads both with push config and the front one can fit two more 120mm fans with the drive cage in it but three if it’s not

Same problem here. Just built my son a gaming PC this past weekend with the X73 Kraken. Seems to be a common problem. They don't seem to tell you when buying the AIO that you need to also buy the NZXT RGB controller...

ok nvm, I disconnected it while the PC was running, the RGB got stuck, and the pump RPM fell to 0, tho I still heard it spinning inside the block

I've a ryzen 7 5800x and everytime I start something the CPU will go up to 80/90° and will stay down to 60 or 70°

That chip can run hot normally... The circumstances matter quite a bit. I undervolted mine with the curve optimizer in bios and played a bit with power in pbo and found stable settings where it could sustain an all core boost of 4600~ at 83 degrees. Somewhere in the 30s at idle. If you're hitting 90 outside stress testing it youve probably got a problem with your cooling solution and/or bad oc or PBO settings. I use an nzxt 240 aio

It does come pre applied. He said in the video he had installed this on a previous build so had to use thermal paste.

great video however that cable you said you dont need to connect unless you have other rbg items from nzxt and we dont need to worry about it that is incorrect sir, my fans wouldnt light up then i connected that cable with one of the fans with one of the in and out cables and it turned on , make sure you use the other in and out cables to connect the other fans with the one connected to main cable
