I love these stations! Saw them at the fairgrounds and was so happy to fill my bottle up with cold water, not sure why this hyped me up so much just glad we have this technology available for us.

Actually water line is included but not the couplings to hook up. You get the water line from cutting the excess on top part of unit but installation guide does not tell you that. The video does show the water line but had to figure out where they got it from.

This unit can be tricky if you are replacing an older model fountain. The rough-in power receptacle location and recess is crucial to getting the filter inside. Not an easy task when dealing with concrete block walls. The retrofit kit is a great solution to this problem, if the model you have on the wall will accept it. It is more troubleshooting the innards of the cooler but saves time over changing the rough in on the wall. You can mount the filter on the bottom of the cooler to free some space but I recommend the filter cover to keep someone from a 1/4 turn slip and slide. Finally, either way you go you need a pair of tiny hands to cram everything inside and turn on the water. Like working on an Escort, no room.

I installed one of these a year or two ago, replacing an older unit. It was not an easy task as the outlet had to be changed because it didn't have a ground and it was a tight fit that I did not like. It worked out fine but man was it a pain because of the plumbing from the existing unit not matching up very well.

I have one of these and it's connected to an outlet that goes to a GFCI breaker in the panel. For some reason it started tripping the GFCI breaker but if I plug it into a non GFCI breaker it works perfect any ideas

Maybe I’m having a stupid moment but why would anyone install a water fountain above an outlet where it could potentially drip? Maybe I’m overthinking it is the base somehow water tight to wall? But still the drainpipe is above the outlet?

Its a GFI recep. All bathrooms have these.

The Building Code says: "drinking fountains are permitted to be i) indirectly connected to a sanitary drainage system" Does the ELKAY system take this into account? is there an indirect section to the drain inside unit?

The code also allows them to be connected Just like the video shows (which is the most common way)

What kind of screw is the one for the gasket support bracket? Not a torques or an SAE Allen wrench?

This video makes it seem like a breeze. I have a contract of installing 300 of these units in various schools in my area. You're lucky if it goes this smooth. I'm dealing with old units and removing and replacing. Cutting the copper using mechanical joints for install adding appropriate water line connectors. This video shows you when everything is in place and not struggling in concrete block walls.

I work at a school and I've noticed the custodian uses a chrome spray cleaner on these machines that she sprays liberally on it. I usually come early in the morning and there's always white stuff that comes out first which I assume is the residue from when she cleans and not from the pipes. That can't be good for my health. I would suggest instructing custodians on how to clean these machines so this doesn't happen as well as adding a "flush" button to future systems so you can at least get any crap out of the spout before you put your bottle under there. I'm no longer filling my bottle up at these things at school because of this.
