Great video, thanks for sharing. I'm thinking of putting my IQ camera above my front door under a shelter mounted upside down of you get me. It will be about 6ft high or so. do you think the camera could rotate /pivot enough to capture the garden? I'm concerned it's a bit too low. Thanks

Hey thanks for commenting- I can’t really say but the camera does have good range. The only thing I’ll say is that at 6ft high ? that’s quite low for a security camera 🎥

Help! Had my legacy Nest Outdoor IQ for several years not a single prob. Got new fiber optic wifi and tried to reset camera with Nest team assisting me. Camera is now a brick. Nest says it is no longer made/supported/warranted. Ouch! Are they obsoleting these or something? Any suggestions anyone. I've tried the factory reset and now all it does is light up with blue ring pulsating. Won't do anything else. Even tried a new "home" on Nest app -- won't work that way either. :(

What is the LED color ring used for after the camera has been setup? During your video, I see that it was blue, then green...

these arent officially available still in Australia... would importing one from the UK or US work just fine down here? Nest Aware subscription is available here and their first version outdoor cam, just not this new model.

To be honest I’m not sure, but I cannot see there being any issues. Might be worth seeing if anyone else replies in the chat who has it installed in Australia

I recently just moved and I’m trying to reset my nest cam but the light won’t turn on at all.. I got a new cord for it, tried a different outlet and tried to factory reset it but as soon as I plug it into the outlet it just stays black with no lights at all. Any tips?

Do you have a spare / different power supply you could try and also a cable swap to see if they are at fault?

@@TheComputerLab It’s the Nest cam IQ outdoor. It worked at my old house, I thought I messed up the wire by putting it through the wall so I reached out to nest and they gave me a new one but the camera won’t turn on at all even when I try to use the app to find the camera. I’ve tried different outlets around the house and I get the same result.. I also have other nest devices that are working perfectly well, so idk if i should try anything else?

REVISED: I purchased this camera in early November 2020. The daytime video quality is excellent, but the Night Vision quality is arguably mediocre. This camera appears to be the second generation of this camera with a bit of confusion. There is a top Allen Hex Screw hole on top of the camera base, and it appears to be used to prevent theft. There is no associated screw in the mounting kit. Notwithstanding, there is a built-in hex fastener in the face of the camera mount that appears to serve the same purpose. The blue sticker on the camera is bonded to the foam pad and cannot be removed without destroying it. Adhesive stickers harden over time. I use this Nest IQ Camera with an iPhone running iOS 14.x. I also use it with the Google Home Max Display. Overall, I believe this is the best camera of its type that is currently available.

Hey Daniel thanks for watching the video, at 3:39 into the video I show the small box that contains the screws for mounting. The release tool is the small Allen key that I show just after the time stamp 3:39. The peel off blue sticker should come off easily, I have fitted lots of these and never had any issue with the blue protective sticker. If you at 4:25 I show the Allen key releasing the nest camera from the back plate.

Well Mariette, I guess that’s the case for any camera mounted on the outside of your property, hopefully if that happens you will record the culprit.

Can be plugged in at a secure or hidden place if possible. If plugged in by camera, that would catch & record the culprit
