The first couple of steps you recommended didn't work so had to do download OS onto a USB and reinstalled on his HP Chromebook and voila! Yeeeaaahhhhh. hey ive had an asus chrome book and like 5 months ago it just shut down but then turned back on for no reason but now ive done this after trying everything and it says to insert the recovery device but when i do nothing happens i dont know if im dowloading it properly because when i download it makes like 20 diffrent files that need to be formatted please help

I have a Chromebook 145G that is locked from a school; system. I have tried all the steps that was suggested. I will not go into the Enterprise mode at all. Blocked by school. I tried the creating the usb the recovery files. It did the first 3 steps quickly. The last step it will not do anything but just hang. For hours. Suggestions?

Esc+ reset + power just asks if I want to shut down. Can I use the USB process without being on the screen with the exclamation point?

hi, my chromebook (dell 5400 latitude), always keep asking for recovery usb when starting the chromebook...so i did the recovery via recovery utility...once it recovers it work fine, till i shut down...but there are strange things that keeps happening while it's working- 1/ it repeatedly keeps asking for PIN .. 2/ the shutdown,restart,sleep menu (at the right hand bottom corner) does not function properly...its like, when i click the up-arrow button next to shutdown or restart, the menu flickers up n down constantly and would not allow me to do anything.. 3/ Any window on the screen starts moving on its own..like the window maximize and minimize on its own without touching the laptop.... So i somehow manage to shutdown the chromebook, and when restart, it ask for recovery usb AGAIN....and this pattern has been going on for a week now... What is actually happening and what is the fix..would appreciate your help..thank you.

I followed your other (excellent) video and downloaded a new copy of the chrome OS onto a new USB drive, but when I insert it into my chrome book, nothing happens. THe same screen remains ("Chrome OS is missing or damaged."} It's a Lenovo IDeaPad C330 chrome book. I've tried turning it off several times, and also re-downloaded the chrome OS onto the USB drive, but still nothing. Any suggestions? Thanks
