This project was done in a 2000 sqft home and it turned out incredible! It was done over an existing epoxy surface that did not hold up to industrial grade standards so the homeowners decided to resurface it with Leggari! Our epoxy is industrial grade and American Made! Our kits also come with a lifetime warranty, giving you the assurance that we mean what we say!
This is Part 2 of How To Install Epoxy Floors Full Installation Step By Step Explained. We go over how to properly mix epoxy, and how to apply it. We used a silver base and black highlights for this floor. Along with liquid diamonds dispersing effects to get this look! We also go over how to mix and apply the top coat and how to remove tape. Then it’s the big reveal of how it turned out! After watching these videos you will be ready to install your floor!

Leggari Floor Kits were designed to transform your floors into something new and unique by coating your existing concrete, tile, or wood flooring. Floor Kits are fun and easy to install. You can have a designer floor that will last for decades in 2 days with our unique floor kits, custom made to your projects square footage.
Learn about the floor installation process here:
PREPPING THE SUBSTRATE OR SURFACE
One of the best ways to prep your surface is diamond grinding. You can rent concrete grinders at most rental stores. The next best way is using an etching chemical to etch the surface of the concrete. You can also sand the surface if the before mentioned methods can’t be done. If you can only prep minimally or can’t prep at all we have a Prep Replacement Primer to help achieve a strong bond. We always recommend prepping the concrete surface first.
PRIMING THE SUBSTRATE OR SURFACE
Priming the floor is simple and fast. Mix your pre-measured primer then dip and roll the pigmented primer across the surface until the floor is completely pigmented. Wait 1 hr (or until tacky and not coming off to the touch) and start applying the Base Coat.
METALLIC EPOXY COAT
Applying the Base Coat and Highlights is the funnest part. Mix your pre-measured Base Coat, pour it out across the floor and begin to spread out the epoxy with your rubber squeegee getting it as even as you can. Our Epoxy self-levels so don’t worry about getting it perfectly even. Quickly roll over the surface with your paint roller to help even out the epoxy. Now mix your pre-measured highlight color and apply it to the base color, then blend it to your desired look.
HIGH WEAR TOP COAT
We offer 2 different gloss sheens in our Urethane Top Coat. The Top Coat comes with the option to have a High Gloss or a Matte Finish. It needs to be rolled out super thin and leaves a minor texture which gives it the extra durability. Apply it within 24 hrs of installing your floor kit or you will need to sand the surface before applying it.
**APPLICATION DETAILS ARE ADDRESSED IN OUR TUTORIAL VIDEOS

They make a metal strip you could use to transition and could feed the epoxy into that instead just pulling tape. It would also prevent possible cracking of expoxy. They use on tile when it butts up against hardwood or carpet. Nice work.

I have a two part question 1) question is how slippery is the floor after you’re all done. 2) question is how good does the floor hold up to dogs or so to say to speak scratches from dogs. Thank you for the answers

Can you do this on sub floors after removing linoleum or can you go right over linolium?
@nickmoser8235
@nickmoser8235 3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t suggest going over the linoleum. I can’t comment on the sub floor. It may be possible so long as you have an underlayment that contains the liquids. It would be a nightmare if you didn’t waterproof it well enough.

I love how this product is being applied on the floors. The mixing of the colors and the clear coat. It reminds me of when I was painting cars. The only thing of concern was the end result. As I watched the video, the light from the ceiling to the floor showed orange peels. This means the clear was to dry in spots, or the clear had a chemical reaction to paint or the other coats pending how many you put on. Also, how long does the clear coat last? Does this type of product oxidize, and can the clear coat can take a beating of moving furniture? If you look at the video, it shows that the clear is not clear. I only want to point it out to you. Other than that, great job.

Wrong. Its a urethane top coat. it will have an orange peel look to it.

Dear Leggari Products Team thank you for the video explaining the step by step instructions for installing epoxy floors. i found the information presented to be well prepared and informative and you clearly showed the importance of planning and preparation in terms of mixing substrates work in sections . Question 1 : how long must I0 wait after installing the primer for us to start on the base coats? question 2: how long must i wait to start spreading and laying the highlights after the base coat for a section has layed & covered with roller? your response will be appreciated. this is a great tutorial. Kind Regards J Munawa

Really good video, just wish they had a video about doing the stairs. I know one way would be just to replace the wood with wood pieces you have epoxied? (sp) but I was wondering if theres some trick like countertops to let it drip down etc..

How long do these epoxy floors hold up and what’s the upkeep/maintenance to keep them looking like this? These look amazing by the way! Also we just purchased our dream home 2250 square ft ranch. We are weighing the options between epoxy flooring or tile floors throughout the whole house. I’ve done tables with epoxy with good results but don’t think I’m willing to chance screwing up the floors in our new home, so this would definitely be a hire a pro/you all to do the house just want to make sure I know what to expect for maintenance and upkeep vs tile. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Also our new home is in the Northeast of portion of Georgia, Brasselton/Pendergass area of Jackson County.

They're extremely soft and imprint/stain so easily. Even a printed plastic bag will transfer the ink to the epoxy if its left for longer than a few minutes. Steer well clear. You'll regret it eventually if you opt for an epoxy resin floor.
