FreePBX is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). FreePBX can be installed manually or as part of the pre-configured FreePBX distribution that includes the operating system, Asterisk, FreePBX GUI and assorted dependencies. FreePBX is based on the CentOS distribution while maintaining its own software repositories. The distribution is free to download and install with support offered through a paid subscription.
