I lasted less than a minute…. As soon as the nub showed on the screen, I teared up….. my grandfather lost his left arm at the elbow to a log truck …. He worked on chicken farms and repaired lawn mowers to provide for his family…. Mannnn I miss him! You keep on keeping on, my guy!

Brad, you are such a blessing. I have repaired my D110 over and over always with your videos, you give all the info and pictures so I can do it myself. Not to play a sexist card, but as a female, most small engine shops mess around with me, up to doing a complete overhall when my ticket was only for replacing a cable or holding my mower for months at a time. Thanks so much

NIce job: I also fit the bottom spindle shaft with a thin needle bearing. It make it steer way easier. (Poor mans power steering)Thanks for the video.

I just replaced the wheel spindles on my la105 today. Surprised that there were no thrust washers at the bottom of the vertical shaft.

I notice on my d140 my right front wheel has a positive camber. The other side is perfect. I'm wondering if I got a bent spindle or damaged rim. Top of the tire is leaned outwards.

You could have all of what you said. Check to see if your tie rod is adjustable, some were and some were not. That would help you get it back into position.

@@JohnsonsSmallEngines wouldn't adjusting the tie rod just affect the toe and not the camber? I don't think it's adjustable other side is perfect straight up and down but the left side top of tire is leaned outwards (positive camber) was just curious what your thoughts were on it

@@JohnsonsSmallEngines I know when I changed the bushings and put bearings in on that side with the camber issue the bearings just fell in so I know the rim is practically wore out but I just used a hammer and pounding around the rim and got the bearings to fit tighter it's a 2014 model d140

Brad I ordered the wheel bearing conversion kit you listed from amazon for my S120. The kit says for axel ID .75” and wheel rim 1.375” which mine S120 measures perfectly. The bearing OD was ever so slightly too small and slid effortlessly into the rim. The bearing axel ID was ever so slightly too small and cannot be forced onto axel. Don’t know if it’s peculiar to the S120 or the HD Switch brand is sloppy. Just FYI. I enjoy and leArn much from your videos. Wish there was someway to get rid of bushings. Any suggestion much appreciated.

Hi Joe, OK first i have heard of this. I will drop the S100 from this video pending the next S100 series I get into the shop I will try the kit. Thank you for the heads up. You could try a genuine John Deere kit and see if it is the kit or the tractor. Or better yet, call up John Deere to see if they have a roller bearing kit for the S100 series.

@@JohnsonsSmallEngines Thank Brad. Will do. I note the item you listed does not specifically list the wheel for the S120, GY20638. HD does carry a 4 bearing pack specifically for that wheel. Might give that a shot. I’m a good ways from a JD dealer.

Hey Brad. Ok. I ordered John Deere kit AM127304Kit1. Expensive. A little over $70. It comes with bearings, caps, e-clips, new washers. You can order just bearings, AM127304, for around $50. It worked. On one wheel the bearing just dropped in which was problem I had with HD brand. I had to put three stake pints around the hub to hold the bearing tight. I probably could have gotten the HD to work if I would have had a clearer idea what I was doing. I will say the JD components seemed more substantial and better made. The JD bearing was .002 larger ID than the HD. Still tight on axel but was able to get it on. Looking forward to your future videos. They’re great. Very clear. I learn a lot.

@@JohnsonsSmallEngines right on man. Thank you. How do those HD switch front bearings hold up vs getting the john deere bearing to replace the bushing kits. Is it worth spending 72 for the john deere kit vs 20 bucks for the HD switch bearing kit for the complete front bearings

I haven't had issues yet or complaints so I will assume they are doing well. For $20 it is what it is verses having to keep greasing the front suspension or paying for the John Deere kit. I have noticed that many manufactures are going too using, "NOT made in the USA" bearings which is disappointing.

I’ve removed the e clip and washer on top of the spindle, but the spindle will not slide out. I’ve been wailing on it with a hammer, soaked it with liquid wrench. It spins easily, but it will not slide out. Any ideas why?

Hi Chris, the only issues I have come across is the top of the spindle may have a ridge on it that you need to sand or grind off before it will slide out. Because you beat it wil hammer it now may be worse. Sand or better yet, grind the top to make the shaft thinner in diameter and it should slide out.
