I have that cord lock and can't figure out how to install the new ones. The new part fits perfectly but I can't figure out how to secure it on the blind. I 've looked everywhere and I can't find the instructions.

Hi there; those cord locks are so hard to install. They are secured by the metal pin that goes across the lock. To install it, remove the pin from the lock. Put the lock into the headrail from the inside and then insert the separate brass roller into the front of the lock. Then, push the metal pins into the holes on each side of the lock from the inside of the top rail. It's extremely difficult. I've also looked for a video about this lock and haven't found anything.

The strings that hold the blind in place...it looks like it's okay to have those under the ladder clips. True? The don't have to be outside of them?

The ladder clips hold the string ladder in place. The string ladder does go underneath the ladder clip.
