I guess I miss your videos on window installs when they came out. However, since I'm getting ready to install the front and rear glass in my 68 I came straight here to look. I've installed these in several 1st gens in the past, but it's been a while. Very helpful to be able to watch you walk through the steps.

In the late 80s, all I did was rebuild late 80s Vettes, but I always got help putting the windshield in. The glass was laminate, but it was so thin that one person picking it up in the wrong place could crack it. I took the windshield out of the 68 Camaro to put in the storeroom, and that sucker is heavy for the old man😉. I’m gonna take the rear glass out today

That front glass had some weight to it for sure!

Much easier to install interior, headliner, sail panels and rear parcel shelf prior to installing glass. Front as well. Also if working on larger car removing trunk lid and standing in trunk helps. With you on old Country and rock. Love the bird.

Thats pretty slick. I was gonna pay someone to come install my glass when i get to that point, but after seeing this I think I will give it a try myself. Thank you for this video. Keep up the great work.

The cars lookin great!! Nice job on the glass install! Way to go getting the help from the salesman! It's always funny peoples resction, I was doing interior work recently on my 69 gto, had seats out and I had a guy come by selling services and his reaction was funny. Oh does it run, had no clue what kind of car it was, he was pretty young but back when I was a teenager i could name most any car on the road, be it newer or classic!!!!😂😂

Looking good, that seal was a dam sight easier than the front one, thanks for sharing, I was wondering if it might stick to the car better if you rolled it down with a, tube patch repair roller, or something similar,,all the best to you and your loved ones

That was great, get help wherever you can. You made that look pretty easy. How long do you have to let it sit before pulling out the bottom spacers? 👍

You know I just left them in, when I go to install the chrome I might have to pull them. Not sure just yet.

spraying the glue and gunk around the edges of glass with WD 40 and letting on for about 10 minutes will make it a whiz to scrape off glass.

What thickness of butyl is needed for this install? I know if I use one too thick my trim will not mount flush. Thanks in advance.

this is stock stuff around less than 1/4 inch thick.

Your package said 3/8” which I believe should be 5/16.
