Installing glass and regulator on 1968 and 1969 Firebird or Camaro. Maybe you didn’t take it apart or maybe you did and forgot how it goes back together then this is the video for you.

A big thank you for the glass removal and installation videos. It was time to remove, clean and re-grease the tracks, and polish the scum off the bottom of the glass. To better protect the glass during the removal or installation, and to provide a way for a 2nd person to help lift the glass, I put a large piece of carpet protect plastic on both sides of the glass, and it extended a foot above the glass...Makes for a good handle. 1 windows down, and the 2nd one next week. Nothing wrong with a great creative solution to get the job done. Cleaning up and lubricating the regulators will Make them work great and worth the effort

Interesting take on installing the windows before the tracks. Either way, your video gets camera angles that the others out there don't. I found it to be visually more helpful than others. Thank you.

Thank you for that video, it was very informative, I need to replace the driver's side door after locating one the hardware that's in my old one has all fallen to the bottom of door.

My '68 was built during the third week of February. My drivers side has "bird glass", the passenger side does not. I know the history of my car all the way back to October 1977. So, I'm thinking somebody broke the passenger glass and replaced it with non-bird glass before 1977. GREAT video, I do enjoy them!

My guess is like you said it was replaced with glass without the bird. I recently stumbled upon a 68 convertible that was early production as well but had the passenger side bird glass and plain glass for the drivers side.

I had a "Firebird " guy years ago tell me cars built before April of '68 had the the bird glass. Is there any hard rule on which cars got the birds?

@@leegreen2163 nope the only thing that is consistent is early production date only And even then it didn’t matter fully loaded 400 car or a plain Jane 6 Cyl it was hit or miss if it has the bird glass

Great video wish i saw this before i took my car a part! The video i wached of a guy with a camaro had to use some trick camra work lol but doing it your way will be alot easier just reverse it for taking it apart you are really good born to restore fierbirds and anything that needs fixing!

@VinylVillageGarage yes after this one and your high school fierbird you can find one that's completely wasted like a couple of guys on KZfaq are doing and restore it lol that's almost what you do anyways you have helped me out tremendously and I bet alot of others! God bless you brother John🙂

@@gibsonexplorer8777 I do like the idea that these videos are helpful, my grandmother was a teacher, grand father was a mechanic my dad was an aircraft technician so I suppose it’s only fitting I ended up a mix of all of them. Oddly enough I enjoy playing cars and sharing what I have learned so it’s been a fun and rewarding journey

Regulator assembly and adjustment - once you understand it and have done it it's not so bad, but the first few times are a PITA .

The great thing about your channel is when I get started on my 67 I know I can just disassemble my car with no worries because if I forget or have trouble putting it back together I can always depend on your channel for the information to get it done thanks again for all you do!!!!!

Yes you are right. the glass is a bit different for the doors.

Yup just finished doing the 1/4 glass video. Need to post it on KZfaq Power window regulators are about the same as for installation too.

@@VinylVillageGarage OK, looking forward to the new one. I have a quarter window that doesn't move up without help and I'm not sure if it's the motor or just gummed up tracks, rollers, hardware, etc. Keep up the vids as they are a big help. Cheers!

@@tommyspencer7891 a lot of the time even with manual crank windows a good cleaning of the track and regulators And add new grease fixes most of the issues. If you don’t see anything obvious start there
