The Rock Slide Engineering Step Sliders off the convenience of a powered, drop down step when you open your door, with the strength and protection of a heavy duty rock slider. They've been designed to simply bolt on to your Jeep without any drilling or modification to your Wrangler necessary, and they even feature an easy to install, plug and play wiring harness. Rob walks through the steps needed to get them installed on a 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited.
Tools Needed:
- 10mm Socket
- 1/2" Socket
- 18mm Socket
- Socket Wrench
- Impact Gun
- Torque Wrench
- 7/16" Wrench
- 1/2" Wrench
- Panel Tool
- Razor Knife
- Drill & Drill Bits (for optional skid plate install)

Full disclosure, We did have to do a little bit of trimming of the rear bracket on each side for the Rock Krawler long arms, but RSE assured us it would be ok.

I really like my my steps. I recently had to replace the motor on the drivers side and there is a slight adjustment issue though.

When it comes to wiring for the 2 door jk is the process very similar?

Does the bypass switch allow for doors off operation of the steps? Does it come with or do you have to purchase separately?

They sell a manual button that you can install. This button allows you to hit a button to drop the step to make it easier to get in with the doors off.

How do these hold up in water and mud ? I wheel mostly in the Shawnee National Forest and that's 80% mud and 20% deep water crossings.

What happens when the doors are off? Does that override switch control them?

There is an optional add on that makes them work when the doors are off

I can't find any info on these at all with regard to working with a body lift. It seems that it may work, but with a gap. Can you confirm?
