Heres how you can install brembos from a 2015-2017 mustang to a 2005-2014 mustang. Nothing like a big brake kit for $600

Actually from what I gather for others, they are made by brembo but branded as ford parts. Much like Ford racing short shifters are made by Barton and labeled Ford. Of course i am not 100% certain but saying brembo in the title gets the point across better for those who dont understand "4 piston brakes" thanks for watching my friend😎👌

Riley Kerwin i have an 07' mustang im looking to do this swap. did you have to swap out the caliper bracket to fit the bigger rotors? my car has 12in. rotors.

They’re technically not brembos, they’re Ford Performance 4 piston...6 piston were the actual brembos, but yea!! I’m doing this with mine. Upgraded to gt350 4 corners on my 16 mustang GT, and my 4 piston are going on my 08 mustang V6

Did the same job... Calipers...2020 (used) $200 Rotors... 07 GT500..new (o’Reillys) $ 170 I have 20’s so no hub spacers needed... and you are correct... a washer is needed to center the calipers...

Dude. Best explanation and vid ever. Got everything under 400. They look awesome and brake Hella good. Make sure you guys are attaching the brake lines closely to the body.

Thank you for the video. Very informative. I'm about to do this swap this weekend if all my parts arrive. Just an FYI for any future videos you make requiring a measuring tape, those little ticks are 1/16 of an inch each. So the washer is 1/16" of an inch think and the space for the bolt to pass through is 9/16 of an inch (9/16") and the washer itself is 1 and 3/8 of an inch wide. (1 3/8") :)

You could also just use the brembo brakes from the 2007-2010 gt500. With 14inch rotors. Stop tech makes the whole reman kit for $550. Direct bolt up.

True, I looked into doing that first but at the time I was buying the calipers from a Gt500 or boss 302 were around 400 without the rotors. I didnt know Stop tech makes a kit like that now though, thats awesome. Got a link?

I know this is old video, I just copied you in my 2012 built 3.7, after I installed a circle d stall converter I deff needed a brake upgrade, I spent about $665, but got performance pads and rotors. Thanks again sorry to Necro a old video. Haha

Nope used the same dust shields but you can definitely get the shields from the boss 302 aswell 👍

I don’t think standard gts have brembos just same design as the 4 piston brembos from late s197 track pack then s550 pp obviously got the 6 pistons

just an fyi the regular four piston brakes on the s550 are not actually brembos. Only the 5.0 w/pp and gt350 came w/ actual brembos.They were modeled after them, but brembo did not manufacture them.

Yeah I was unsure if they were actually manufactured by brembo or ford. Some sources said yes and some said no. Either way saying brembo makes the title easier for people to find. Good to know brembo didn't.

How do you feel about the eBay 14” rotors? Have they done a good job so far? Only part I’m skeptical about lol. Purchased the whole s550 brake kit and found out that the rotors will not fit, so now I’ve gotta buy new rotors and brake lines.

They have been fantastic! Not one issue since I bought them. Bedded in nice, not rust other than where the pads touch.

They are built by brembo yes. They are actually the same brakes as the s197 track pack cars but weigh 4 pounds more because of the excess caliper covering the lines on top and bottom of caliper

No they are not, they are made by continental. There’s a reason u can’t find them by searching for brembos.

Ive heard some say you can use the factory but cant say for sure being i didn't try and fit them. Being youll have to bleed either way id suggest changing them👍

I tried installing these and my wheels didn’t clear the caliper :( I bought some spacers too. But idk if it was the rotor I bought was wrong or the spacer is not big enough. The wheels are 20x10 45 offset

@@RileyKerwin what's up man!.. mission failed for me lol. I had a couple set backs. I first had to run all over to find bleeders to replace 2 rusted that came with the caliper pair that I order used. Second I ordered the j&m brake lines and they didn't fit properly 😫 the line I got wasn't so flexible it was almost like the OEM one. so now Im going to order the ones you put in the description. So I had no choice but to put it back together since it's my daily driver lol 😓

So far they are holding up great! no issues what so ever. Unfortunately I have tracked the car yet.. Hoping to go to one of Sebring Raceway's open track days soon since the track is close to me.

No issues at all. Everything is wearing evenly. I have replaced the pad and the aftermarket pads work great too👍

The S550 GT base brakes are 14" 4pot brakes but not made by Brembo. They're made by Continental. Decent enough caliper, but the S550 14" rotor is garbage. Him using the S197 14" rotor is much better.

sjp3042 I just did this upgrade, you would need the 14 inch rotors. I purchased mine off of lmr.com, I went with the drilled and slotted

What about ABS system still the factory system, do you need to upgrade when you change the breaks from 2 piston to 4 piston ?

Ah Ok. Not quite the same then. You shouldnt need the washers to space the caliper. Youll need the rotors from a 2014 gt500. Your current lines should work fine too. 👍

Not to much. The milling on the mount points is lightly different. The case of the caliper is bigger and the pistons are bigger I believe but don't quote me👍

I don't see S197 calipers that cheap that I can find. But I do see S550 4 piston take offs for close to $100 a pair with the lines. I guess because people are upgrading their GT's to the PP six piston.

they are not brembos unfortunately. they are base S550 GT brakes which suck on track because of the inverted hat rotor design.

If u do your homework you'll find that the s550 4 piston brembos are trash! Theres other videos that explain why you should just save a little more and get the s550 track uprade 6 pistoncaliper.
