I installed this fan in the oil rubbed bronze finish a couple of weekends ago for a family friend. Super easy especially love those quick install blade arms wish all fans had this feature! Love the videos keep it up.

I've installed this fan in the oil rubbed bronze finnish and I assembled the fan on the floor with the arm's and the light kit, then installed it and added the blades. Just thought I'd share this quick connect hack.

Long 4 foot pipe. Tape dental floss to wires. Vacuum suck dental floss thru pipe. Pull wires thru pipe via taped dental floss

Great video and used it for step-by-step replacement for fan in our master bedroom. One wrinkle though, we have a red wire coming out along with black and copper. I did a quick look-up and it seems red could be for the light separately. We ended up putting the black and blue from the fan with the red and black from the house but it has created a situation where things don't seem to be quite right with the switches on the wall. Should we change it so the red is with the blue and black to black separately? My main concern is not wanting to start any shorts or hazardous situations. Thanks!

Thanks for watching! Let me start by saying that I am not a licensed electrician and you should always consult with an electrician if you wiring varies from the instructions. That being said, in general a red wire is typically a wall switch wire. You can either cap the red wire and connect the fan's blue and black wire to the house black wire. That would let you have regular control of the fan via the pull chains. Or, you can wire the fan's blue wire (light wire) to the house red wire and the fan's black wire to the house black wire - this would allow you to turn the fan's light on/off with the wall switch. Please note that the light would need to be turned on using the pull chain initially, then the switch would take over control of the light. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your professional and efficient work in this video. I want to install a remote control. Because of the transmitter, it seems like power wires will not be able to come through the center of the mounting bracket instead through the open space on the side. Is this unit not designed for remote control?

Thanks for watching. This fan can be installed with a universal remote control. When installing the remote, just pull the house wires to one side of the mounting bracket and the fan wires to the other side. The receiver will slide into the mounting bracket and rest on top of the ball of the downrod and wires. yes, this fan has separate wires for light power and fan speed power and can be wired to operate via wall switches.

Check balance for fan wobble in steps. Remove rubber screwed on stops and turn on fan to check for wobble. Install arms turn on fan to check for wobble. Install blades turn on fan and check for wobble. Why! So you know it is motor or arms or blades that caused a fan wobble. So install and test in steps.

those are good ideas, but wobble can also be cause by an improperly seated ball in the mounting bracket, a loose motor collar screw, or loose outlet box. Your troubleshooting steps are on point though! Thanks for sharing.

Yes, as we said at the 1:57 mark "please make sure the electricity is turned off at the wall switch and the breaker box".

There's a green wire on the mounting bracket. Just connect that to the house ground.

I'm installing this fan, I got the fan to spin but the lights wont come on. I traded the light kit out but it still won't turn on the lights. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

i would check that the blue wire from the fan is properly connected to the house wiring (blue fan wire to black house wire) - MAKE SURE THE BREAKER IS TURNED OFF BEFORE CHECKING. Then i would check to make sure the light kit wiring is properly connected to the wires at the base of the fan. If all of the wiring is connected properly and the light still doesn't work, I would call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-434-2678.

I have the same issue as lights are not getting on. I have connected blue wire to the red wire coming out of ceiling.
