The 39" post height mentioned, is that the top of the 4x4 to the top of the deck board? Or is it from the top of the structure?

Put a little soap on those ledger lock screws, saves your impact some and makes things smoother. Thanks for the video. Always like to see how other guys do it.

Installed my post the same way after watching this video . Then finding out I was installing different trex railing. I was installing Enhanced trex railing where the railing is at 36 inches and post sleeve is 48inches. Do you think I’ll be able to leave my post as is? 39 inches from top of post to top of joist?

The divider board with the lumber on the flat… Would you suggest putting Joist tape as water will sit there?

Are the wood posts to be set exactly at 6 or 8ft O.C.? (depending on rail length chosen?)

A 6 foot length is 67.5” and the 8 foot rail length is 91.5”. The dimension of your deck is going to dictate the placement of the posts. In a perfect world, you would be able to set 6’ or 8’ foot OC, but typically your deck size won’t allow for that. So to answer your question, you need to establish equal spacing in accordance to the size of your deck.
