Yes, VCDS is tool for enabling rear view camera. You can buy VCDS from aliexpress ~5€.

Camera is connected with Columbus head unit ( VW RNS-510). Look at the end of video, there you can see how camera operates in real life.

No, there is dedicated wire loom to connect camera. You have to run this wire harness from back to front, to connect with head unit Columbus .

@@lutz6441 I took out my head unit with Amundsen Nav, cant update it and mounted a Chinese Android head unit so wanted to mount a back camera , will check that. May I ask, I can see a double black Fakra cablei disconnected in the skoda superb and there is a single blue Fakra i believe these are the antenna. connected the blue one as the head unit only has one single fakra connection but got no radio. I can see on your other video for a polo head unit you used a double to single adaptor cable maybe I need one of them ?you maybe have a link or suggestion....thanks Lutz

@@Irish_Balladeer With Chinese unit it should be different, as you look RGB cameras from Aliexpress, which have RCA cables with the set. Fakra cable is only for OEM headunits if I´m correct.

Superb 2019 should be with different tailgate and camera compared to previous versions and therefore can’t help you with that.

After more than one year there has been 0 problem with this cam. Camera is working well and I'm very happy of this retrofit. Only drawback is, that in nordic countries you have to clean camera lens quite often (snow, mud, dirt), therefore maybe it's wise to buy camera with a washer.

thanks for response. True, but cannot find any OEM with washer, so for that it will turn into VW store. Especially now with this weather conditions car is dirty after fe kilometers.

@@ted8718No problem to use camera with washer option. Washer tube is running quite close to the camera and you have to cut the tube and use triplet, to extend washer tube to the camera.

This malfunction is quite unique and at first I don´t have any clue how to solve this. Signal for showing view from cam comes from reverse gear light and this works only when ignition is on. Maybe there is some issue with your head unit connection?!

You need a relay for it to work. Need to run a constant 12v to the relay then a wire to tap into reverse light, then power and ground for the camera also ran to the relay if that makes sense.

OEM number of the camera is 56D827566A and this is low camera, meaning lines will not turn.

I don´t know exactly as I have purchased camera from Aliexpress. It looks like OEM camera, but I doubt it is.
