Polymega lets users install their physical media onto its internal/expanded storage. For disc-based games in particular this is a great touch as it lowers the chances of damaging them with use. In this video, I show you the process of getting them installed and ready to use!

I love the Polymega and what it brings to the table! I just wish it didn't get decimated by the parts shortage and price increases...

I'm interested in seeing what the app and USB module attachments can do for more casual Emulation fans. But yeah, I could never recommend the dedicated console at its current price despite how much I love it.

You answered my query just as I was drafting a message. So can install from a backup copy disc... I had wondered, for my beloved *Thrill Kill* game which I only own on disc of course. Do you know where art is scraped from, and can upload your own if choose to? In the off-chance some obscure game isn't detected and art pulled down?

It's pulled from the systems internal database. If a game isn't detected in the database it can't currently be installed to the system so it would need to be played from the disc each time until the database has been updated to include it.

what if the games we installed dont load up? Ive tried alreayd and I just get that polymega symbol in the bottom right corner and nothing else happens.

Does this system require a constant internet connection? I'm considering ordering one but I don't want to buy this and have the possibility of it turning into a paperweight in 5-10 years.

Can you install the Roms or Backups directly to the external and reconnect it to the Polymega, and the Polymega is able to read them with the right folder structure?

No the files are encrypted per console and can only be installed through physical media.

Nah, disc stuff is PS1/Saturn/Sega CD/Neo Geo CD/TG16CD/PCEngine CD right now

From the FAQ on the Polymega website - Q: Will there be eventual support for PS2, PS3, Gamecube, Will etc. A: In short, no. We have no intention of supporting anything in the 6th Generation of game consoles at this time. Although they have said they are looking at Dreamcast. I think that is the only 6th gen game they plan to support.

It would require a CPU upgrade to make PS2/Cube feasible

Dreamcast support are interesting, specially it could requires a software update to dump the GD-ROM discs. PS2 and first XBOX support could be a little ambitous.
