This is an exemplary instructional video: Specific. Clear. Descriptive. Explanatory. Helpful. Well paced. Excellent. I've built five desktop PCs over the years, but had no clue as to how to get to the battery of our church's Dell 5770. This video made it obvious and doable. Thank you. (BTW, for my "splodger" (or however it's spelled!) I used the edge of a standard issue butter knife. No issues. All is well.)

Clear and concise. Make sure you put the short screw back in the same holes!!

Hi, great video. One question: When replacing a standard battery is there any way to upgrade the battery by putting in a replacement with a higher capacity - any way to check if it would fit, and would it affect cooling - as I find my I5770 inspiron cooling fans run a lot? Many thanks!

I followed your instructions and installed the new battery...but the computer shows "no battery present" after I reassembled it. Could it be that it needs to charge more. I am certain I plugged it in. (BTW: It was really difficult to unplug the old one) Follow up: I took it back apart, and as you may expect, the battery was not plugged in all the way. This time I disconnected the the battery cable from the motherboard, plugged the connector securely in on the battery side , then back into the motherboard. Works great now.

1:50 where you need a very small screwdriver for the 3 small screws. my laptop is also inspiron 17 5767 but refurbished, I guess. those screws are not there. the screws on the sides are lacking and in the middle, where the middle screw should be, there is something i don't know what it is, as if it's sealed so that no one can open the laptop. do you have any ideas? when i try to separate the bottom plastic i see that it's still attached although there is no screw there. i can send you a pic. You think it’s because the laptop is refurbished? Repaired maybe? Or might that be because the laptop was a corporate one and they didn’t want anyone to open it?

Thank you for putting this helpful video out there. I did manage to successfully replace the battery on my Inspiron 5770 but now it won't boot up - it says it can't find a bootable device. I've run the diagnostics test and so far it's fine. I've tried changing the boot sequence in BIOS but it just doesn't work anymore, so I'm not sure what to do. All and any advice much appreciated, thank you.

Late to the party! I have a 5570 but the externals all look the same. But about the battery? I found a 3 cell replacement battery with “Dell” printed on it on Amazon for half the price of one straight from Dell. Do you have any advice about buying replacement batteries?

I will say that here you pull the battery from the battery instead of from the motherboard. Almost damaged my laptop doing that. Are you certain this is the same model? I will say that my laptop was refurbished so that may be why the connector was weaker on the board vs the battery side?
