13 years ago, I made a really bad Tower of Babel animation. It was the 5th animation I ever made. The story badly needed a reboot in my current style, so that's what this video is. I wrote a totally new script with new animation. If you're interested in seeing the old video, it's called "God Fail Part 1 - God Zilla" (part 2 was just random God atrocities in the bible, posted in the summer of 2009). Here's a link to the old version: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/frCElLJ1rN7XlGQ.html and as you can see, I've come a looooong way. Are there any other old animations on my channel you think I should reboot? And, no, this doesn't mean I'm running out of material. It just means I think these stories should be addressed better than they were. Many thanks to my patrons and KZfaq members, and also, thanks to those of you who like, share, and comment. It really helps me out with the algorithm.

You can't even pretend to be smart. You're that bad. How did DM even get around the beginning of the bible about God creating and giving life? Real science says nothing does nothing. Real science says if there was something there already it must fit with the evidence of what we know. We know the 1LT says there's a conservation of energy. It can change forms and neither can be created or destroyed. Creation cannot happen by natural means. The 2LT has various aspects, one being the universe is winding down, entropy. Usable energy is becoming less usable, so at one point usable energy was at its max. This all points to a supernatural creation, by a supernatural creator at a certain point in which matter, space, and time were created. When I read how it can happen otherwise, ALL the fools resort to science-fiction. Once a supernatural creation is accepted, then the next step is finding proof of what supernatural power did it. We KNOW these laws. We have NO doubts about them. We also KNOW that the laws of nature can't come about without a Lawgiver, God. So if DM wants to pretend to be smart, please give me the laugh by giving DM's science how creation really happened by natural means. Also, throw in how we got the laws of nature, naturally. Life only comes from life. Law of biogenesis. God is the reason for us and all we have. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gM99pN1_xL-3iIk.html The odds are NOT there. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jZePfqiHxqndkXU.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r71pmsSo38Cwo58.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/msqRpLam2dqZkas.html

The Tower of Babel story always confused me, because if all of humanity at the time was coordinated enough to build a giant tower, then a language barrier probably wouldn't have been a major deal. If anything I feel like there would've been a natural effort to develop a common language as people kept building according to the plans they were told to follow beforehand.

For another, They already had a Common Language, an lost it. And if You woke up One Morning and No Longer Understood /3rds or 3/4ths of the Population of Your Area, that may well cause You to drift off. When I was a believer, something that bothered me often was how the old testament tales felt a lot like Greek/Egyptian/Norse mythology that I often enjoyed reading. I couldn't pinpoint exactly why I felt that way, but the Tower of Babel was the one that first clicked - it is a story of a petty god getting offended by humans and enacting some petty punishment. I drew a connection to one Greek mythology story in particular - how Athena got offended by Medusa, resulting in Medusa turning into a monster. After that, I started seeing the old testament as it really is - Hebrew mythology, to be read for entertainment alongside other ancient mythologies.

It was a story for simple and ignorant people that couldn't come to terms with different languages, and why different cultures believe in different gods. It was also a story for the intellectual elites on how to preserve their way of life through mitigation of that frustration held by the less educated populace. 13 years of making videos, and these animations are only designed through an idiots perspective of Christianity.

In school, we did religious studies but the teacher was hardcore Christian so it was more or less a scripture class. She was adamant that the Tower of Babel was the explanation for race and language and single handedly disproved evolution. With a straight face, she said up until this point in ‘history’ you could have offspring of completely different “racial appearance”, for example, if you looked racially “white” and procreated with someone who looked racially “Asian”, the resulting child could be racially anything, white, black, South American, Pacific Islander, etc.. (Very hard to write this without sounding racist. But you can owe it all to this stupid story). So when god got tilted over the unification of human achievement, he racially separated through fucking with their languages. She literally said “all the Blake people could understand each other, all the Asian people could understand each other” and so on. So they all grouped up and went their separate ways. And that’s how races and language was formed, not through evolution to environment and social relations, but through gods over simplistic solution to his ego destructing discovery that people can work together and build really tall mud brick buildings.

To ensure You Know what I am addressing. Now, You said This. "God never said they had to cover the earth and then multiply he said to be fruitful and many do that you can cover the earth." You go on to Talk about Adam and Eve. But, We're not Talking about Adam an Eve, but of The World post Noah's Flood. In Genesis 9; 1, Gen 9; 1 And God gave his blessing to Noah and his sons, and said, Be fertile, and have increase, and make the earth full. Make The Earth Full does carry the Implication of spreading over it. I Know You Will insist it just means having a lot of Children but, the Verse does clearly Say Make the Eth Full, which would not happen if the Population was concentrated in One City or its surrounding Area. Contrary to This Cartoon, which has them say They had been living in The Plains of Shinar for a Long Time, the text says they had been Wondering, so its silly to Think they had been there for a Long Time. And their Motive for Building The City and Tower is that they would not be Scattered. So, You have God saying Fill the Earth and them saying lets not Scatter. Its not hard to put these Pieces together. Then again, it;d Require actually Reading The Bible and Trying to Understand it. Yo lot say You've Read it, most of You say You Read it as "Believers" and "De-Converted" because of it, but You then repeat the same Arguments that are Popular on Atheist Websites and never seem to Know of the Details. Like when You say God Hardened Pharoah's Heart and act like it is Mind Control and call Me stupid for saying The Text also says Pharaoh hardened His own Heart. God didn't harden Pharoah's Heart though Mind Control, He hardened it by making a Demand that was an Affront to Pharoah's sense of Self Importance. Pharoah's Response to God's Demand was t Harden his heart. Go Hardened it in the sense that God gave the Demand, but He did not Cause it in a direct, personal way. My Explanation Will be Written off as Apologetics, which to You means Dishonesty and Excuses, but that won't mean I am Wrong. But You do expose Your own Baises here. You Really do just want Excuses to Find Fault with Christianity. "Makes you wonder yet again what his plan was if Adam and Eve did not eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge and instead ate of the fruit from the tree of life and nobody would have ever died. In fact DM2525 has a lovely animation of that outcome." So, You don;t Really Wonder what would have happened had they not Eaten from The Tre of Knowledge and had Eaten from The Tre Of Life instead. You Know what would happen. Pastor Darkmatter 2525 has a Lovely Animation about it. Too bad Darkmatter2525's Speculation is not Reality. Also, its not "The Tree of Knowledge". Its "The Tree Of The Knowledge of Good And Evil". You also Beg too many Questions. Such as Assuming it was God;'s Plan that they should Eat from The Fruit Of The Tree Of The Knowledge of Good And Evil. You may say God is All Knowing so He Knew They would, but if that is the Case, then Darkmatter's entire Lovely Animation doesn't Work. How can God be Wrong? If He planned on them Partaking of The Fruit, but they did not, then He did not Know the Future. Based on the very Premise of the Cartoon, God cannot have Perfect Knowledge of The Future. I am not saying this as it is My Belief or Christian Beliefs, but rather, it is assume in the Video itself. Also, in Regards to perfect Knowledge of The Future, Assuming God des not have Perfect Knowledge of The Future does not Mean he has No Knowledge of The Future, but You Will now assume He had None but, that's not what I said. Tough how much or how Little God has I don;t Know given Darkmatter is unclear on this. Further, if We do assume God did not have Perfect Knowledge of The Future, even if He had Some Knowledge of it, it is not Rational to assume God Planned for Adam and Eve to Partake of The Fruit. Darkmatter2525 Assumes it is "God's Plan" but gives No basis for this beyond a Superficial appeal to Christians saying various events are part of God;s Perfect Plan. Without Knowing exactly what that means, it is a very Unconvincing Argument to say Adam and Eve partaking of The Fruit was Part of God;s Plan. Especially in Light of God being capable of being Wrong under Darkmatters supposition. Assuming God had planned Humanity to Sin is itself an unjustified Assumption. Not that You gave it any Thought. All You care about is Ridiculing Christianity as Irrational an Stupid. You are unconcerned with if Your Own Arguments are Coherent or Rational, so Long as You can get People to focus on Christians an see them as Irrational. This is not about Logic, Critical Thinking, and basing Your Beliefs on Evidence, its about Blind Hatred and Irrational Contempt.

You think that's fun? Ask a christian to tell you the story of Adam and Eve, and then challenge them to find it in the bible. Hint: _it's not in there._ The bits and pieces are present, but the story you'll hear is made up of parts of two completely different fairytales mashed together from different conflicting chapters. There's a reason why reading the bible is the #1 way christians deconvert. It reads like a bad mash-up fanfic _at best._

@@---yl4mf I have been. But all it gets Me is Accusations that I am Fine with Child Rape. Or else that The Inaccuracies are "Trivial", so s to Mitigate and eventually Deny the Claim that they are Accurate was correct. But the examples I listed can be found. I'll give One. I stick to the Ones I have already given. I can name others. Goliath. In Darkmatter2525's Video on The story of how David Slew Goliath, He has Goliath standing open and alone in a Field, with only a Sword as a Weapon, and not even Wearing a Shirt. He also uses a Verse to claim David had Superpowers. This is because David said He killed a Lion and a Bear, and as He had done this would also Kill Goliath. Darkmatter then depicts David as Punching with his Fists Lions and bears, killing Earth with one Blow. he uses this to say David was given Superpowers by God and the Story is not Really about a Weaker or Smaller opponent defeating a Superior enemy but about a Guy with Superpowers killing a man who is effectively helpless. The Biblical text says David Killed Goliath with a Sling, not Superpowers, and since David said in The Biblically text Killing Goliath would be the same as the Lion and Bear (both Single, not plural) he had already killed it is more Reasonable to Assume He used a Sling to Kill them and not his are hands, and certainly not in One Hit. Further, Goliath was issuing a Challenge of Personal Combat. This is an Ancient tradition whose Purpose is to Limit the Number of overall Casualties in a War if the forces are generally not willing to absord those losses. Even had Goliath appeared on an open Field just as Darkmatter presented, His statement that they were all Afraid of Goliath even though they had an Army and he was all alone and could have killed Him , or at least Shot Him with an Arrow, is absurd. Goliath represented The Philistine Army, and while the Rules of Engagement were loose in these Situations, No one would accept Goliath's Defeat as Fair if an Archer killed Him from a Hilltop while un cover without having accepted the Duel. Killing Goliath would result in The Philistines charging. Which also brings up the Fact that Goliath was simply the Champion of The Philistines Army. He was not completely Alone. Speaking of how He was Alone, this is nit even Tree of the Field when he issued The Challenge. The text also says Goliath had a Shield barer who advanced ahead of Him, on a Chariot, carrying a Shield. Given He had a Chariot and You can look up Shields used ijn the period, You can Confirm the Shield was likely Rather large since it was carried on a Chariot therefore capable of providing cover for The Charioteer and Goliath. The Charioteer did not have to carry it personally as it could be Mounted Securely until needed on the Side or front of The Chariot and Lifted into Place Rapidly. Goliath was thus not unprotected. Speaking of protection, Goliath is also described as having Scale Armour. He was not Standing Shirtless. Of course if You are like those here who I have already told This to, You Will act like whether Goliath was Shirtless or not is what I cared about and claim it is a Minor Detail to this Make believe Fairy Tale, and doesn't matter if He had a Shirt on, as if there is o Difference from Wearing Armour an going unprotested and Exposed into battle. I can also discuss THIS Video's Problems but You won;t Listen to it either. it also is less Blatant. But this is just an Example.

@@skwills1629 Maybe I'll search for the goliath video, but I was asking about this specific video, the tower of babel one. At a quick glance though it does look like most of the stuff you point out may technically be an inaccuarcy, but I am inclined to agree that they strike me as irrelevant inaccuracies. If you reenacted the scene of hitler committing suicide and the gun is in his wrong hand and the number of bullets in the gun doesn't match, that IS inaccurate. Well spotted. But the important core elements still match. If you portrayed it as if he took poison while standing on a mountain, now THAT would be some significant inaccuracies. So with that in mind: yes, there is obviously no mention of god taking a shower for example. But I am curious, what exactly in the parts where he directly references quotes are significant inaccuracies in THIS video according to you?

Acting as if Goliath was standing in a Field Challenging an Entire Army and the Army Feared Him as if He;s just some Giy who Challenged the Army for No Reason is not Irrelevant. Neither is Asking Why they didn't just Shoot Him. Or depicting Him with No Armour. When dealing with Combat, Armour is Hugely Important, and the Real; Situation was Goliath Challenged them to settle the War by Single Combat. This reminded me of something I had to deal with once at university. It was the most unbelievably and blatantly racist moment I've had to suffer, and it took place in the library of all places. An older man, probably in his 50's, was talking to a younger man, who looked about my age (20), and the older guy was going on and on and on about how his race is superior to every other race in the world and that God INTENDED "whites to be slaves" and that no white person deserves Heaven. "Blacks are the true kings" that will be rewarded with Heaven and are the only ones that will be rewarded. The younger man seemed uncomfortable and was slightly laughing in a nervous way. Like he just wanted to leave. Then, it got worse from there. The old guy starts talking about his "proof," which was this story - the Tower of Babel. He said that it represents "God not wanting the races to be together." and that "We're not meant to be together." I was trying hard to focus on my work, but at this point, I was pretty infuriated listening to the endless stream of racist bullshit. I confronted him, and I still regret not saying more, but AS SOON as I walked over, he was extremely aggressive with me in a way that made me anxious. He obviously hated white people and looked at me with total hatred. He couldn't even stand that I was near him. It looked like he wanted to kill me. I knew then nothing I'd say or do would even be listened to. So I simply grabbed my stuff and walked out shaking with nervousness and anger. This was about three years ago but it still angers me deeply thinking about it today.

Many stories in the Bible are like that. Pharaoh was afraid that the Hebrew slaves would overthrow him so he ordered the massacre of Hebrew infants. Or how King Herod tried to kill Jesus by murdering all the baby Hebrew boys. This theme is common in many religions/mythologies, especially in Greek mythology, one example being Cronus trying to kill his children including Zeus. Another example is in Roman mythology when the evil King Amulius tries to drown the hero babies Romulus and Remus. Or another Greek myth, that of Perseus, who is almost drowned by his grandfather King Acrisius of Argos. These types of stories even exist as far away as central Africa, where in Nyanga mythology the hero Mwindo is almost killed by his father Chief Shemwindo because he is afraid of Mwindo's authority. A few other examples of fathers killing their own sons and actually succeeding in doing so includes Mordred who died at the hands of his father King Arthur; Sohrab, a son who was killed by his father Rostam; and in Germanic legend the son Hadubrand is killed by his father Hildebrand.

This was one of the first stories that made me question the Christian faith when I was like 15 years old. History has a long and very precise account of language, from written to spoken, and when I asked my parents about it they would just get really upset and use shaming language to get me to "stop asking why and what if questions". In all reality, I just wanted to understand my faith better. Maybe it's the way my mind works. When I first got a car I bought a book about how engines work, then another more advanced book on forced induction for engines. But when I took that same autodidact method of learning to the Bible, nothing made sense.

Moral values aren't 'hardwired , nothing even close to that. Ah the tower of Babel. This was THE story that slowly broke my faith. I remember thinking as a kid "isn't space in the sky? And if they built a big tower then they wouldn't reach God they'd just reach space?" To which my teacher answered that "God made Space after so this would never happen again." (Which isn't a bible thing anyways.) But that only gave me way MORE questions like... "But i thought God made the Sun and light in genesis." And "but didn't he split people's races and languages so it wouldn't happen again? Why do both? Why not just let mankind fail or just tell them it won't work?" Needless to say this was one of things i got "in trouble for" lol. Looking back it's crazy that i won arguments against grown adults as a child about theism... Speaks a lot about the intelligence of people who believe the stories of the Bible at face value doesn't it? Ever since that day the tower of Babel always came into my mind as this "null space" where I didn't believe the story but i did believe the rest of the Bible. But i remember the story moral bothering me personally too. I always had a friend group of mixed race and I legitimately loved them like my brothers. Sure they weren't Christian but they were my friends, this idea that God would be displeased by me socializing, befriending, and living with people who weren't my race just sounded... Wrong. That's not God, God wants us to love one another despite sin so why would race and language be a problem? In a moment of defiance and anger I highlighted only a single phrase from the whole story and that was. "God realized that when united, mankind could accomplish anything." I figured "if God said it then it must be true." And that was the only moral i chose to take away from the story.

It was only technological limitations that prevented us from reaching these places. I was still a true believer when he told me these things, and I remember being shocked at the stupidity of this man - who by the way, claimed on a weekly basis to hear specific messages directly from God.

How nice, you love being a dolt too like DM. How did you get around the first verses of the bible with God creating and giving life? So if you want to pretend to be smart, please give me the laugh by giving your science how creation really happened by natural means. Also, throw in how we got the laws of nature, naturally. Life only comes from life. Law of biogenesis. God is the reason for us and all we have. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gM99pN1_xL-3iIk.html The odds are NOT there. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jZePfqiHxqndkXU.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r71pmsSo38Cwo58.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/msqRpLam2dqZkas.html

this story is really about how multiple gods (in this case, the council of El) would conspire against humanity in ancient mythology. At the time of writing, there wasn't the concept of a unified omnipotent force, but rather competing interests for how best to use or abuse humanity for the gods' personal ends. The author's simplistic "explanation for language" story seems to confuse the motives of the god character earlier in the same narrative. If this is what we got, you really have to wonder what the original draft looked like.

God can presumably do anything.. but he would never create beings "equal" to himself. Being the NARCISSISTIC EGOMANIAC that he is, god will only make beings much lesser than himself that he can control and destroy if necessary. god loves that kind of stuff.

@@Jonqen We lived as SDA for awhile when I was a child, so I know what you mean. I just got called down for it, punished, called down for another question, punished... But I NEVER stopped the questions. If the preachers had all of the answers somewhere in their books, I didn't see the harm in the clarification of a few misunderstandings. 🤓🤪😂🤣😂 I have an older brother that converted to the Mormans in his 20', and a Southern Baptist sister. We are all that is left now. We all can't be right, but we all could be wrong. If I'm right, I'll never know it. If my brother is right, I'll get another chance in the spirit realm, if my sister is right, then the good ole', "once saved, always saved," has got me covered. Guess I have to get used to the fact, that we'll never know that I was right. 😆

@@perplexedpapa Haha good one. I actually questioned things as a really young child, like how I thought it was unfair that Moses wasnt allowed into the promised land. Just realized that it is completely fine messing up with human brain to change their languages, yet Adam and Eve couldn't have mind wipe and Garden of Eden cleanup for a fresh start that would prevent them from being kicked out and all their descendants punished for their curiousity. Because that would be "messing with free will".

Linguïst here. I know I'm late to the party with this particular vid, but there are many examples throughout history of people with different languages establishing communications with each other: with enough time spent around one another, their languages tend to combine into what is known as a "pidgin". Through aping simple actions and emphasizing certain objects, it's easy to establish one; I myself participated in the creätion of one a couple years back for fun.
