@@YoufishingTV Do you have a set of marks you keep coming back to or do you literally drive around structure looking for the telltale marks on the sounder? (Asking because I've had no luck with kingies so far - got a few rats at The Peak and Long Reef, never yet found a spot where they are plentiful... or am I just not out at the right times)

@@andreas1161 This time of the year they will be plenty at long reef, and along the cliffs South head Bondi, coogee etc all the way to royal national park there are specific sets of spots along the cliffs, Good if you downrigg so you are moving and try to find them. Then you have the obvious spots like 12 mile and the peak. Timing is important and Baits are important, too the big meteries are at the offshore reef atm.

Iam using a 4 foot 10 pe4 to 8 jignesis x-predator rod. Roller rods good for trolling for game fishing. For kings short jigging rods way to go. 5 foot 3 is a common length.

This is mechanical jigging not slow jigging.So the setup needs to be strong also depends how much you want to spend. Would recommend a 5 foot or 5 foot 3 rod.That has parabolic action. Rods like murasame, jigging master, Jignesis,Oceans legacy Andrenalin, Daiwa DB solid. As for overhead reels, the lever drag reels packs more drag so avoid the star drags which are mainly for slow jigging. Reels like Maxel,Jigging master or Daiwa saltiga in the LD10H to 20 size. Lines 50 to 65lb braid will do, leaders 60lb to 80lb flouro.Knife style Jigs 150 to 250 grams depends on dephts. Good luck.
