This channel is much appreciated. Just bought a junk-ish but still driveable pre-LCI 745i and thanks to your vids already was able to pull the amp fuse (FL door speaker was buzzing loud) and now about to jump it because - surprise, surprise - the battery has been drained. 😀 Thank you for the videos.

Thank you!! Exactly what I was looking for! I didn’t know where to find the grounded terminal on the bmw. And I didn’t have my manual handy!

Does the user manual instruct to play both positive and negative on the dead battery? I always place that negative end on ground instead of on the actual battery terminal. Since the battery is dead, you only need to place the positive jumper.

Hi! I noticed on my BMWs starting with the x5 e53 up to the newer F series models, whenever I use a portable jump starter on a fully drained battery. The engine fires up no problem but after 5 secs it dies. Any thoughts on this sir?

Thought you should be attaching the negative black) cable for the receiving car, on any non-painted metal inside the engine to have proper ground, and not on the actual battery.

Yes you should otherwise the hydrogen escaping from the battery might catch fire.

med88m32t Hello, I'll have to look at the manual again to see if they say don't jump from the rear battery, or maybe they made the front available because most cars have the battery in the front so you wouldn't have to back in the car into a parking spot? Hopefully someone else will let us know:) Thank you for watching, more great videos on the way.

med88m32t I've jumped a few cars using the battery in the trunk, but it is behind the trunk wall, and underneath the vehicle jack. Plus the terminals are barely accessible with the jumper cables. I have never known about the negative nut until this video, so I will no longer use the battery in the trunk.

hi I have a 2002 bmw 745li I installed a new battery in the car and its making a click sound and won't start... the cables are tight... sounds like its coming from the starter... im hoping the starter has not gone out... are there fuses or other things that could go out...?

Hello my friend... Love your videos... I'd like your input on my situation... I've been really looking at a 2004 BMW 745i.... I'm in Windsor Ontario Canada and the car has about 98,000km/55,900mi.... Selling for $15,900/Can..... Its in beautiful mint condition... Ended up talking to the owner of the lot & ends up it was his personal car for 8 years & was the second owner.. He said he's done nothing but regular upkeep on the car.. Has new tires, breaks & rotors & is 100% up to speed on the maintainance..... Everything sounds and looks great.... Haven't taken the car out yet though... My only concern in getting a car like this is that it's an 11yr old car for $16G's...will I be headed down the road of a lot of repairs? What are your thoughts on this situation?. I'd appreciate anything you have to say.. Thanks....

Erwin Delarmente Hello, the car does sound like he's kept it in good condition overall, the miles are pretty low for a 2004 car, my honest opinion is that the car should hold up very nicely until you start reaching in the 80-100k miles, then things will break down and wear, like sensor's, universal joints etc, some cars hold up better then others but most BMW owners go through the same issues, some just sooner then others. The car is moderately expensive to maintain, with tire wear in the rear, oil changes etc, I always tell people unless you have extra cash at all times, and you have time to maintain the car yourself then your going to save lots of cash, and sure go ahead and buy it, but if you don't have much knowledge and don't have the tools to fix it, then I would honestly pass and buy a Lexus, something a little more reliable to drive and maintain. Again some would disagree with me but that's the honest truth you'll have to fork over cash at times to keep this car running in good shape. If your sold on the car, try to ask him for a better deal, I was able to pick my 2006 E65 up with 78,000 miles with 21 inch rims for 19k + tax, and that was in 2012. Hope this helps:)

DIYsavecash is right, I have a 2008 750i with 85K miles and it had a coolant leak and the AC bower fan stopped working. In total that's about 1700 to fix, it's an amazing car but expensive to maintain for sure.
