Interesting door latch, back in the 80s & 90s, I worked security, both in installation of burglar and fire alarms, keyless entry, telephone & Intercoms etc, and when the armed security guys didn't want to work holidays, I volunteered to work their shifts at Christmas and so on, I was on triple time pay, I learned a lot of things that most people never heard of, and never will as it's not common knowledge, if you need any help with thing like this, I'll be glad to pass on some info, although not in this forum, Thanks for the video, I enjoy all of them. 👊 😎

This whole room is basically being converted into a walk in safe. These closets are behind another much more secure door and they really just hold overflow and a little extra ammo.

The mechanical code ones they have I think would be great for that. I would have put one of them on the main door to this room if I hadn't already put an electronic deadbolt on it a while back.

A PSA to my less tech savvy gun men: I highly advise you do not use biometrics over a passcode, as the police can force you to unlock biometrics at gunpoint without a warrant, but they can not force you to provide a passcode legally. Also, many of these electronic locks can be readily bypassed/tampered with by using simple tools like a strong magnet or a phone (if it's wifi connected), so keep that in mind too. Especially if it's to keep out kids. I know you said this isn't meant to be particularly secure in your case, just as an FYI. I'm definitely interested in the no battery passcode version. And thanks for the review.

I can kick 99% of any door knob off of any door with a few kicks. If people don't know by now that a lock or safe or any other "security" does nothing but slow a thief down, a KZfaq comment isn't gonna save em.😆

I actually like this model of door knob. Let's say you aren't home and a spouse or teenager is, and a robber gains entry. They can hide in that closet and still get back out with the inside button. If the perp tries to get in and they give up that's a plus. If they try to take the door off, hopfully the person inside will handle the rest. Nothing wrong with some good off topic content.👍

I have mechanical combination on my entry doors and electronic combination locks on my internal doors at work but these are commercial locks run about 800-1000 a door but they have 40 people in and out every day some multiple times and these locks last about 5-8 years before replacement or rebuild but security needed where I work

Yeah, we used the mechanical ones at the hospital I was last working at. They've been installed since the building was built many many years ago. I've installed everything from a 5 dollar chain lock to multi thousand dollar mag lock systems back when I did security installation.

Looks neat for a semi safe lock. Hope they aren't to easy for a non wanted person to hack. I have seen videos with similar features open in secs if the guy knows what they are doing. Still cool.

I have looked at these to eliminate having to fumble for keys while wearing 4 coats here in Wyoming. I am not sure how the electronic ones will work at minus 25°f.

I definitely wouldn't use this style as an exterior knob, but not sure about the electronic ones that are meant for outside use. The quick access is what I really like about the electronic locks. They do have some mechanical ones too that still have code input function.
