For the strawberries, take a large piece of netting and lay it on the ground. Set the strawberry tower in the center and stick a pole in the middle of it. Then bring the edges up and twist the edges together at the top of the pole. Think of a gift basket wrapped in cellophane with a bow at the top.

I did the same kind of idea, then realized I had also kept myself out of the garden. You have to make it more accessible

Build a pvc frame around your plant with the netting that you can lift up and over the plant. Good for thought…

If you have squirrels, they will chew right through any type of netting !

For the strawberries maybe build a square wooden frame w stakes in all 4 corners and wrap sides & top similar to what you did around the raised beds. The new strawberry cover could be portable or used for other purposes throughout the year.

Oh, and another cheap netting that works is tulle. They get their little finger nails caught in it and don't like the feeling so leave it alone.

When the squirrel jumped into your netted area from the chain fence how did it get out of the netted area. If it could get out of a netted area I am confused how it could not get in (even without a chain fence to jump from). Not a fan of squirrels - they got all 40+ of my very unripe peaches off my tree. Yeah so, this doesn't work. If you have hungry city mafia squirrels, they will chew right through. Galvanized chicken wire with holes 1/4" or less would keep everything out but unfortunately it would need a roof too as squirrels are also good climbers. And then what, you are also locked out of your garden. We are trying rebar with bendable pvc on top to create hoops. Basically row covers.

Just in case you didn’t realize squirrels can climb and they can climb up the steaks and over the top so you need to cover the top of your raised bed gardens to keep squirrels out

I grow sunflowers around the outside of my garden, the squirrels try to get them but they have to avoid my dog, the neighbors cat and fight angry birds. They get a few sunflowers but fail l to reach the actual garden…so far…
