People probably think you’re joking about the washing your hands part, but it’s actually the most vital part of handling cards. When your hands are clean, the edges of your cards will stay white longer (esp if you smoke).

Reminder, that UV rays do deteriorate your cards by the window ledge, so you should ensure that you place them in a card protecting box, so the box itself gets the dose of UV.

Great Vid Guys. I was cringing not hearing the bit about washing ones hands before deck handling, which in my opinion is the Number 1 Deck Commandment, but rejoiced when I saw it at the end of the video. I keep my collection, which I think just surpassed 450 decks, in one of my older clothing dressers that I converted into my deck storage vault. I have a product called DampRid I believe it’s called under the dresser which does a killer job of collecting any moisture/humidity that may be present. Everyone has to remember that playing cards are made of paper and they will only last as long as you treat them as such. Making sure that your hands are clean, doing the opposite springs and shuffles, as you’ve pointed out in this video, and the biggest culprit, carrying your decks in your pocket when not in a plastic or metal protective device like a clip or card box. One thing I use if I’m only carrying one or two decks on my person is removing the decks from their tuck case and I put them in the plastic clamshell box that Hoyle and a couple other deck producers package their plastic playing cards in. This does two things, One: Keeps your cards protected from the heat and moisture you might have left the house with and Two: Keeps the Tuck Case immaculate because you’ve left it behind at home. I know that these can be found on Amazon. There are also other plastic deck boxes, that fit the whole deck and protect it surprisingly well. The best deal I’ve seen on these are on my number one deck purchasing site, PlayingCardDecks.com Will runs a great site with the best prices I’ve found on the net. He is always open to questions and gets right back to you with what you’re looking for. His shipping is immaculate and they package up the decks for delivery better than he has to, to assure they reach you in pristine condition. I’m actually going to message him now and see if I can get a discount code for anyone wishing to place an order. I really would suggest against buying decks off Amazon, as the prices are severely inflated for the most part, some times you can find a deal, but that’s the rare occurrence. You’re best bet is to shop around but I haven’t been happier shopping at Will’s site and for the $5.99 two day shipping it’s totally worth it. Believe it or not, I picked up a cool little tactical bag which also doubles as an oversized fanny pack, though too big for that in my opinion, but I can carry over a brick of cards with me and some other things like Cottonelle Bathroom Wipes, perfect for keeping those hands clean if not near a restroom, and whatever other goodies I’m outside with. It’s got a bunch of zippered pockets and such so it’s got tons of uses. If I know I’m going somewhere requiring me to have several bricks of cards, I use the Rigid 22 inch Pro Organizer in Black, my preferred color. It’s like a Pelican Case for my decks which is waterproof and keeps all that nasty stuff out and the best thing is that they go for only $29 bucks opposed to the $100+ for the Pelican. There are 6 removable little trays or bins that hold like 5 decks each and a huge center area for more decks, card mats or anything else you need to have with you. Sorry for such the long comment but I also enjoy relaying my experience to others so that they are not throwing their money out the window because of improper deck handling practices. If anyone needs the link to the tactical bags I’ve purchased on Amazon let me know and I will look them up and drop the links here. With more and more people carrying around shoulder bags these days, the tactical types are very practical and an aesthetically acceptable man bag. Haha. I myself will be starting my KZfaq Deck Review and Cardist Channel within a couple weeks and hope that at least some of you will Subscribe so I can throw some of my knowledge & experience your way. Hope everyone is having a great week and we’ll catch you on the flip side. Shawn Darkest Playing Card Co. #Darkest52Cards

Maybe you'll know why this happens. I keep decks around to practice playing Blackjack. I've noticed that after being used a lot, no matter how many times you shuffle or mix the cards, the hands you get start to repeat. Sometimes in reverse. Like a dealer push will happen with the same double down hand etc. The cards stay in the same order almost. Like you didn't shuffle at all. And if the player hand happens to keep losing, there's no way out of it. It's weird. I usually just buy new cards and it solves the problem, but what is the reason for this? I've heard that cards today are made differently and it has something to do with the plastic.

That is extremely bizarro & high strangeness bordering on the highly unusual......I can't say that I have come across this type of recognizable pattern of behavior which seems to have it's origin within a set of inanimate objects that contain no cognition or motivation for any behavior whatsoever, and thereby one would assume that what you're saying is an impossibility. Perhaps you have noticed the supposed pattern, when in reality, none is present? Have you asked a outside observer to watch you for a while without giving any indication of what you suspect? Perhaps taken a video of the pattern once you start to notice it? Truth is; in the decades of my fascination & romance with cards & especially games of chance, I have bore witness to a number of things that I can only refer to as unexplainable. Particularly so-called beginner's luck, I have witnessed wide-eyed and jaw-dropped. I don't have any logical explanation for it, & in truth it doesn't seem to happen every time to every player that are inexperienced....but it happens almost every time, sometimes in the face of incredible odds. For example, I once saw a kid get dealt a natural Royal Flush whilst I was teaching him the game and in his first say dozen hands or so, whereas I have perhaps seen one or possibly 2 in a lifetime of games & literally hundreds of thousands perhaps even more hands than that😮. 🎉 Thems some mighty long odds, me thinks. It's gots ta be that long ago, ancient curse...mouthed by that of the ol leprechaun of Faeley's Hollow. Why, a curse, of course, as it gives a man who takes a shine to games of chance every reason to return henceforth to place another bet, and another, and one more. Why, even the young bride, having seen the incredible fortune of what was at first just a bit of entertainment, may be hesitant to pull in the reigns the first few mentions of her betrothed being out a bit late with the fellas..Rollin the bones as it were.

I still have a bicycle deck that's about 5 years old and it's in a good condition. I care a lot for my deck.(And it's hot in India half of the year...Like literally hot☀️☀️
