You did the exact same thing that Chris Ramsay did when he did the bicycle vs virtuoso deck. He thought the standard deck was so good and sounded convinced and then immediately changed his mind when he felt the other deck.

Blue seals last so much longer than current cards today. I have some blue seals that I have had for years and are broken in like no other and are still snappy and fan perfectly

I'm pretty sure I've seen blue seals at my half price before, I just didn't realize that they were supposed to be different so I never gave it another thought lol

Was at a thrift store nearby where i live and a man came in with a whole lotta board games and a bag full of decks his son did cardistry and he moved out but left his cards and we're talking like nice decks like virtuoso's and monarch's and he offered to sell the whole bag of 23 decks to me for 15 buck's Damn was i glad i turned up to the thrift store that day

Great vid. Regarding the back design, there are some rider back boxes with black seals. Supposedly this is because right after the transition to the new factory they continued using Cincinnati boxes for a little. Personally I thought that the box felt a bit heavier duty (felt less like paper) than the standard Bicycle box and the cards handled a bit differently, but that could be because of age or the placebo effect.

I was just about to say how Half Price Books always have multiple sets of Bicycle cards of all kinds. Ive found all kinds of rare decks there that are just sitting by the registers ignored. Dollar General also has a promising selection from time to time. But HPBs is a gold mine.

Local magic shop started selling bricks of blue seals for like 40€ so yeah Im glad to be getting my hands on them for a good price. So far they definitely feel more durable and just hold up well.

I still have loads of blue seal bikes and tallys, but only one still left sealed in plastic... blue fan back tallys. Never would have thought in the 90s and early 00s what would happen otherwise would have saved loads unopened

Can you tell the difference between Blue and Red Bicycles Blind?

They printed cards in Cincinnati since 1881. The blue seal showed up around 1965 after the government ended the tax on playing cards. That’s when the blue seal appeared

Watching this video I was like dang I want to get into this card trick stuff I guess I’ll have to use the new bicycle card decks but the old ones look so cool so I go downstairs into our game area and bam, old blue seal deck of cards it says rider back and poker so I guess it’s the same but I am very hyped because they already feel so good!!!

I just checked my card collection and i have a blue seal that my Dad gave me recently it's really beat up and clumpy so i can't really use it but it's cool to know i have one Also it still has the ad card joker and at the bottom its has the Ohio address The address is also on the flap of the tuck case I just double checked a deck that the seal was removed completely but the inside flap and joker has Ohio on it and it is in great condition

I have heard blue seals are famous because of their nostalgia cause older cardists didnt have any black seals so thay got used to the blue ones and now they like the blue ones more than the black ones

Scientifically speaking, if you *really* wanted to do this right, you'd repeat the test a few dozen times because 1 result is just one data point. I personally could not tell a difference between a Z, K and N deck (2019, 2008 and 2010, respectively.) L, M and N are often avoided because those came from the 'recalibration era' immediately after the move. K's are the newest and last cards printed at the Ohio plant. Pro Tip: The secret to getting an unopened Ohio printed deck without paying out the ass - buy a Richard Turner Bicycle deck. They are still available on Amazon for under $8. They are traditional cut though, so they faro bottom up, not top down - the opposite of their normal decks.

Lol this caters to some very specific interests of mine

They are not the "exact" same product. They also changed the court cards "yellow" color, from the more deep rich "yellow-orangish" tint to a more "light yellow" color. The color change bothers me more than the change to the "feel" of the cards. You might want to show the color difference in a future video.

thats pretty much what i expected to happen lol you think the new kentuckys are good, until you feel ohio and you instantly can tell i just really wish they made more custom decks in ohio before they left, uv500s are by far some of the best decks out there, and casino bee stock is my all time favorite...you can still get gold standard bicycles from penguinmagic and theyre soooo underrated its criminal. modern cut, casino bee made in ohio

I bet with my bad eyesight I’d probably be able to do this too, but I honestly just don’t care for blue seals. Yhe only old school decks I get hyped over are the early custom decks such as the ghosts and black scorpions! Sorry I’m a zoomer, back when I was 12 in 2013 I couldn’t buy cards, I’d just ask my parents for a deck a month lmao.
