This is probably the most succinct video for kegging beer on KZfaq. I often revisit this channel for tips or to clarify part of a brewing process. Keep up the good work

Great video, I already transfer fully carbonated beer from my fermzilla to a 19 l corny keg in a similar way. But once the beer starts to flow, instead of applying gas pressure I just fit another line from the gas post on the fermzilla to the gas on the keg and let gravity do the rest. It just saves wasting CO2 !👍

Great video. You can also use the spunding valve during pressure transfer relieve pressure and to know exactly what pressure the serving keg is at by setting it a few pounds lower then the CO2 bottle pressure.

Yeah we really find that stepping down makes a big difference, all that pressure needs to be spread out through the line otherwise you might as well grab a cone and chocolate flake for that foam. lol

Great follow up video from the understanding kegging vid 🍻 also good to know the brew monk fits into the ferminator 👍🏻 With the transfering under pressure will it stop filling automatically when full , as you can't see the gas dip tune to give an indication when the keg is full or do you need to monitor the volume markers on the fermenter. Also love those maturing kegs, they are so handy to have.

Hey Aidan , It'll stop when full and usually you can see the condensation on the outside of the keg so you visually see as it approaches the top of the corny keg

Nice video!! I have a 1 gal keg to give "kegging a go"....My beer is at room temp in a Craft a Brew Conical Fermenter...totally fermented. Can I take 1 gal straight from fermenter to my keg and add CO2 straight away and then sit it in the fridge to chill? best way to not ruin the beer?
@Geterbrewed
@Geterbrewed 2 жыл бұрын
I'd suggest chilling the beer to at least 4 degrees first before adding the co2 so it absorbs the co2 correctly

 Regarding packaging beer straight into cans using something like the duofiller, would you have to force carbonate beforehand and then fill and seal and it will be fine... or are canners forced to can condition? Thanks in advance! @Get Er Brewed - Home Brew & Craft Beer

Hi guys, late comment and hope you pick it up! A few questions…when you naturally carbonate you said that about 6 points off final gravity you shut everything off and let it go to work. How do you measure the gravity in a sealed pressurised system; do you seal off everything completely, or set a spunding valve to the pressure required for carbonating that type of beer; and how long do you carbonate under pressure for? Thanks in advance!
@Geterbrewed
@Geterbrewed Жыл бұрын
Hi , we have a spunging valve on all of our fermentation tanks and we have pig tail sampling taps that allows us to take gravity readings, the final part of fermentation carbonates then we condition and package ,hope that helps.

@@Geterbrewed That's great thanks. Love the videos! I've just kegged one batch with CO2 as a set and forget and keg conditioning another, but keen to use natural carbonation from the Fermzilla, but just getting my head around when to seal the spunding valve and how long to leave for! Thanks for getting back to me

Hi. I have forced carbonate my corny overnight at 8 degrees. 20psi. I have now disconnected the gas leaving 20 psi in the corny. So now can I leave this in a cool place for a few weeks to condition. Or should I expect the pressure to decrease in the keg. And will I need to increase the pressure again by connecting to the gas. I was going to leave for three weeks then carbonate again prior to use. What do you suggest. Thanks
@Geterbrewed
@Geterbrewed Жыл бұрын
Hi, You need to crash the temperature of the kegs contents to below 4 degrees before you start force carbonation, the cooler temperature will allow the liquid to pick up the co2
