Spilling and overflowing is the same thing? If there is a crack in the plastic tank and it’s leaking then that’s a different story

Radiator cap that is faulty will definitely make the vehicle overheat. Good job! As I say always check the simple things first. The other car may need a head gasket from what you are saying.

Hello sir, I have an Audi TT 2010, and my coolant was completely empty and my car started overheating. I’ve parked it over night. What should I do when I put the coolant? Let it rest? Or run the engine immediately after I put coolant for a few minutes?

Trying adding coolant to the radiator and overflow tank to proper level then start vehicle and let it idle till fans come on at least twice then take for a test drive. If it continues to overheat you may have other problems

In my case, the radiator is sending all the coolant to the Reservoir, and it only pulls it back when park the car for hours. What could be wrong with it?

Could be as simple as a defective radiator cap, start there

It has to be checked for exhaust gases in the coolant system to rule out a head gasket problem. Thermostat, blocked radiator or failing water pump are to be checked as well. Make sure coolant level is proper and no air in the system.

can you please give me an idea, my car is opel zafira B 1.6 of 2006 show these codes on the screen p111505 and p111606. after I have changed many parts and the problem continues again, I have changed the temperature sensors in the radiator and in the thermostat, the original thermostat has been changed, the new deposit cap, the water pump. I don't know what to change, I have spent a lot of money but no solution please help me with any idea

Check the coolant temperature sensors wiring, they are known to break.

@Motorcarnut thanks a while ago I pulled the connector on the radiator sensor and the spanner light went off and the temperature after the fan was turned on went down to normal

it could be the whole problem with the radiator sensor. and one question, are they identical or the same temperature sensor with thermo and sensor with radiator sensor etc. I wanted to say with the one in the radiator because I bought and installed both identical ones from the store and if they are different, this could also be the problem

I’m not too sure but I would imagine they would be different. Just look up both sensors on the factory parts site. If they have different part numbers they are different.

My overflow kept getting full from the middle of low and high. When the fan turns on it sucks the radiator coolants so its making me refill the radiator all the times i already bled the system many times how is this happening? Help

So how do you burp it? Mine was flushed but when refilling the coolant less than 2 litres was used, and it showed to be full

Hi I have a 2016 Jaguar XF, we just fixed the coolant problem it was draining because of a hole in the water tube and was perfectly fine yesterday for driving. But today my car tells me it’s overheating the car is too hot. I didn’t see smoke or anything (that has happened in the past) any suggestions? The coolant level seemed fine too

Did you make sure to bleed the air out of the system? Most times, air trapped after cooling system is worked on has to be bled.

I need help. Whenever I go driving short distances my temperature sits middle (190 F) but whenever I hit the highway, come off the highway, come to a complete stop at a stop sign or light, my gauge shows is getting hot, close to danger zone (red) then I’ll put it in park to rev it to 2000rpm and it will quickly go back to normal temperature 190. If I don’t rev it and sit there it will stay really hot then slowly make it’s way to 190 or 200. I thought it would be air in my lines so I got it flushed and purged but it still does it

What you’re explaining sounds like a clogged radiator, thermostat failing, seems like poor circulation problem or pressure. Also can be a simple radiator cap. Water pumps rarely cause that problem even though it fits the situation.

I have 2009 Jeep Patriot, When I go over 90 for few KMS the Red Coolant light turns on, when I drive below 80 for few KMS then I don’t have the light but I can hear noise from engine when I accelerate. Changed the oil, no coolant leaks. What could be the issue? Car mechanic also mentioned that the transmission fluid is overfilled

Start simple, if you didn't bleed the coolant system that can do it, also bad radiator cap can as well. After that the head gasket can be going bad if the car overheated before you did all that work.

Check simple things first, like a bad pressure tank cap, bad thermostat and make sure radiator is not clogged and fans come on.

What if the gauge is over 110° but there is no bubbles or overflowing ? Does that mean that the car doesn't really overheat ?

Okay so if it does not boil are over flow but the temperature indicates that it is over heating then that means there is no real issue just a bad temperature sensor ?

I changed thermostat, radiator cap , radiator, new radiator reservoir , but car still overheats bad I see that coolant fills up back into my reservoir and my radiator hose is stiff hard to squeeze. only thing I’m thinking is my water pump , anyone have a idea ? ☹️

I have a 2016 Nissan Altima sr I have a coolant overflow that always overflowing the temperature sits at normal no sign of over heating but I see the coolant coming out the overflow , I change the radiator cap and I did put a new radiator because it was due , do you think I need to bleed the air out ?

i have an interesting problem on my ford focus mk1 1.4 petrol/LPG...started a week ago..the fan was activating on a cold start and the temp gauge was on red, on a cold winter start..changed the engine temp sensor and checked the coolant..it was ok for a week and than i was driving on the interstate about 110 120km/h and than suddenly it overheated on a freezing outside temp..after that,whole cooling system was cleaned with hose and water and changed the thermostat...now the fan sometimes doesnt go off even its freezing cold outside, it goes on till i turn off the car..it doesnt go on when i start it ...now the fan is working sometimes, but it still doesn want to shut sometimes and when i drive above 2.5k rpm the gauge shows its overheating..car is fine around 2k rpm and under but what the hell is happening to my car ?...

If the cylinders pump up the coolant system because of a blown head gasket the fans will stay on because engine is hot and not being cooled by the coolant and thus overheats

If you have a Jeep you have an overheating problem I own a jeep that mother fucker overheats all the time so I always see cars with overfilled coolant tanks I'm pretty sure my grandma's Subarus coolant tank is overfilled

Ok now my 2012 VW cc sport is loosing lots of oil I had a oil changed last month and the other day I had my oil light came on and my engine light came on took it to autozone they scanned it and nothing showed up , dude checked oil level and it was low no oil at all what could be the problem?

You have to check where it's leaking from and go back to the place that changed the oil, they messed something up, probably never tightened the oil filter.

@@Motorcarnut sadly I had taken my car to pepboyz, but before all this the car had a trans rebuild , cover gaskets redone oil pan gaskets etc but the mechanic that did it he overflowed the oil pain with the gasket silicone and I don’t know if that’s creating a oil leak , plus I had payed for them to fix all oil leaks took the car back and they had blamed it on the vacuum pump , but the mechanic had raised the car up and you can tell there was lots of oil near the oil pan but he said it was the vaccum pump but near the vacuum pump you can’t see no signs of oil leaks what’s so ever

I would not recommend putting in sealers to fix cracked blocks or head gaskets as they will eventually degrade and potentially clog your radiator.

It should state on your particular vehicle if max is when hot or cold. Usually saids it on the coolant tank

My coolant is all over the place, from the reservoir tank and comming out I can't driythe car over 30min because all the coolant is gone i replaced the new reservoir tank amd cap amd still , same problem 😭 i going to check the thermostat and see what happens but im done with this issue 06 tdi 1.9L

@@Motorcarnut OMG 😰 , please don't tell me that, I just bought the car less than a month ago and this happened since day one 😞 I don't see any oil mixed with the coolant at all or coolant mixed with oil inside the engine 😵‍💫 I'm really disappointed, why people sale the cars like that 😓 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 my mechanic check the car even with a pressure pump and we don't see any leaks only around the reservoir tank 😕😕 he says I need a new tank and cap ( OEM ) I BROUGHT THE URO BRAND and he says No get the original replacement 😅 I'll keep you posted guys and hopefully the problem is anything but a head gasket 😔 thanks for your time ✌🏻

URO brand is fine. It that pressure cap was no good that would cause the coolant overflow because if it’s not under pressure it will overheat. But keep me posted, I’m curious now.

I replaced the original cap and still the same problem I have to make an appointment with my mechanic to replace the timing belt and water pump and see if that solves the problem 😵‍💫
