I was in a relationship almost 3 years. Both very laid back without any altercations. My first time very calmly needing to discuss relationship concerns he stormed out. My first time realizing he cared about nothing I had to say. Relationship ended that day.

I agree men want all of the love and nurturing the kind of love i seen my grandparents had for each other. But the one true thing a woman want and need is a man that can listen and nurture her mind and they can't do that.

I needed to hear this so much. My relationship is a mess, 20 years of not being loved right. Every time I try to make him aware of what I need from him, he turns it into an argument and year after year we get nowhere.

I totally know the feeling and I'm also 20 yrs in now and experiencing the exact same thing. Not listening, talking down to me, trying to make his self feel superior, attacking my spiritual beliefs, my family and all etc....He's been making his birth family more of a priority other than me and what family we may have wanted to create. So I'm divorcing my spouse! I guess he don't want a wife!

This was right on time. Just left a 19 year marriage unfortunately with a narcissist who was a serial cheater. My husband and I are separated since May of last year, married nine years and he fits every thing you mentioned Bishop. I’ve tried talking with him about my feelings. He never wants to have a conversation concerning anything. Always want to do what he wants to do. I’ve mentioned counseling several times for us to go to, his response is … “no, counseling is for people with problems and there’s nothing wrong with me”.
