I love that the video is titled 'How To', even mentioning several different ways to install the lace-in zipper, but doesn't describe the How-To of any of them nor linking to the 'others on the web you can watch' Thanks for showing what it looks like though

Purchased boots with zipper insert at a garage sale several months ago. Had not a clue of how to lace them up until I ran across your video. Thank you a ton.

Hi! I love these boot zippers! I've been using them since high school when i paid $10.00 a pair in the local military store. Now theyre $20.00 in the military store. But as you said 12.00 on amazon is about what ive paid for my last few pairs...i transplant them from boot to boot (boots usually wear out before the zippers) i actually paid $8.00 for my newest pair on amazon including shipping! Amazon is awesome! But i have a tip for anyone. I see ppl commenting that the laces will sometimes loosen and need tightening. Well, if you're wearing them in an official capacity/police/security/military-then you'll probably have to use laces....but what i do now and it works great!!!...is i use black zip ties. One zip tie per eyelet. Doesnt get loose and definitely strong enough. Totally works!

The boots which I have and am looking at these for have a combination of standard eyelets and quicklace loop eyelets like yours and that gave me a good visual as to how I can make these work the this type of boot. Thanks!

Thanks! It helped me figure out how to get the zippers in my Corcoran field boot- it’s only got quicklace eyelets.

Good idea! Probably will help those of us who have been using the Braille method for lacing since we haven't seen our toes in decades.

hahaha, there's a lot of truth to that Ron. Takeiteass!

***** No lie... You know you could lose a few when you look at your regular lace up shoes and they're both tied on the inside because you put your foot on your knee to tie'em... and you still need to come up for air halfway through.

I usually wear my side zip boots, but this is great! Now I can use my old military boots instead of them just sitting in the back of the closet. Thanks bud!!!

Great tip Bernbo, I have fixation in my right ankle so this would be a great alternative to side zipper boots. I'm not even gonna mention the problems I have regarding lace ups and my big belly though :)
@bernbo9 жыл бұрын
Thanks bro, lol the belly can be a factor at times. This could be the answer for your ankle though. Cheers!

I made a pair of these as I can't get them anymore from my local army surplus store and are getting harder to get online. I made mine with 8 eyelets as the army issued inserts are too long for my boots. I laced mine in over the top as its easier to work and tension the laces as you go.

okok I like your solution to the eyelets. I'm trying to figure out how to do my Danner usmc boots. can't seem to get a tight enough fit. Your method may just work.

Right on, hope it works for you. Cheers!

If you're going to title a video "How to lace in a boot zipper" then show don't tell but as for the zipper system, it's a handy bit of kit but I've only ever seen them back in the day when I did a lot of hiking and while I didn't use them myself one of my colleagues did and his only complaint was that you need to keep tightening the laces, do you find this the case as well?
@bernbo8 жыл бұрын
+Bob Thenob Hey Bob my Apologies I thought it was fairly clear in the video. As for the laces coming loose I have never had to tighten them since the day I laced them. I have also heard people saying that the zippers are cheap and can break easily, touch wood I have never had an issue with the zippers either. Cheers!

I bought a pair of Coyote colored for my tan boots. Made by "Original SWAT". I love them. One of the zippers started acting up after 8 months of almost daily use. I ordered two more pairs since Amazon doesn't have them anymore. I found another source. Paid $12 each.

Hey Mr. Bernbo, when changing clutch friction plates, is it necessary to change the pressure plates also?!
@bernbo9 жыл бұрын
Hey stephen, I just checked my manual on that and it does not specify that you should change the friction discs when you change the clutch plates. So really not sure. But if your that far into the job I would recommend changing both.

Ok, thx Bro!

I been looking at the 650cc like the one you ride any problems going 65 - 70 mph. I ride a 750 Ace but I don't like it for long rides frame is too small! A friend of mine just got a 2004 650cc and it it much bigger frame
@bernbo9 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, I have had no problems riding at those speeds, it does rev at the higher speeds though like you want another gear, but it will go all day long. For me this has been one of the best and fun bikes I have ever owned. Super easy to work on & very reliable. Hope this helps you out. Cheers!
