I'd like to see a full color change done with single stage white. I'm hoping that I can paint my 96 Buick Roadmaster sedan before summer is over and I'm changing it from the factory Medium Adriatic Blue to a single stage white. I love white cars, plus doing it this way I can gradually do more custom work to it and it'll be easy to match the paint

I've heard that spraying single stage is like spraying clear. You have to lay it down wet from the start. If you get dry spray or texture, then you're going too light/fast or it's too hot for your activator/reducer. It's better to have runs/sags than dry texture. Runs and sags can be cut down and buffed easily. Sometimes without even doing the whole panel.

Hi Marco, love the videos but I am curious about the how much reducer are you adding on top the activator. I have painted my Bronco twice with speedokote paint and can’t get to look anything as nice as yours. Feels like I am throwing money down the drain. I 400 sanded the entire vehicle and also used the primer, primer also comes out great but I can’t get the paint to do the same. Thanks for any advice.

As long as applied correct you will get amazing results! Do 3-4 coats if you want to wet sand and buff make sure you allow to flash really long between coat 2 and coat 3 .

Mark, love this paint. Thanks for these videos. The only issue was I got some primer/sealer (SS-2790G) bleed through my jet blk single-stage (SMR-9705) after it dried, only on the underside of the vehicle, rockers, etc. It had a rough texture as well, it's bizarre, I couldn't figure out what I did wrong. The rest of the car looks amazing. Anyhow, how long should I wait to re-spray over these areas?

Sometimes if your using it as a sealer and don't lay it just right or use the wrong speed reducer for your weather, it can leave texture

Hi Marco, I'm new to this and have a couple of questions. You are using slow or x-slow reducer at a temperature where one would normally use medium. Would using 10% medium be about the same as using 5% slow? Also does the brand of the reducer matter much? I have some USC brand which according to the label seems to be a high VOC level 4lbs/gal. (higher the better right?)

Alot of these cars I don't end up keeping so no idea on longevity... But I usually wait 30-60 min before putting clear coat over single stage

Main thing is when wet sanding and polishing single stage your taking actual color off the car

What’s the mixing ratio though it only showed 4:1 on the website and that’s just for the activator , how much reducer ?

3/1 for this one all single stages are different however

@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 when you said 5 percent reducer is optional. How can I tell how much is 5 percent in a mixing cup ? Thanks boss

@@Peteiiis take whatever number of onces of mixed paint and activator combined in the cup, pull out a calculator, multiple it by . 05 and there's your number. So 32 oz would be around 1.6 oz of reducer

Ive seen some people speay clear over single stage and some people dont.. is this just single stage?
