I wish Iraqi people made more videos on KZfaq, you can't find many videos and songs dubbed or translated in Iraqi dialect. The way to make your dialect known and understood by most people is to be active on media (especially social media) and to produce more stuff. Also it will be easier for us to learn it, btw thanks for your this useful video 🙏✨

Thank you so much for your videos! I studied a little bit of MSA a long time ago, but then I worked in Iraq quite a bit between 2015 - 2019 (humanitarian work, mostly in Nineveh and Duhok) and I've picked up some Iraqi Arabic (and some Kurdish) along the way. I've changed jobs and it's been 4 years since I've been to Iraq but I'm taking my son next summer to see friends and do some work with a local organizations, so I'm reviewing the videos to try to get comfortable with the language again! I can't wait for my son to experience Iraq. It such a beautiful country with amazing people and incredible culture/history! He's 17 and he's a LOVES history, so he will absolutely love seeing places that are thousands of years old.

Unfortunately, very few (if any) universities in America teach Iraqi dialect. The major Arabic textbooks on the market all emphasize Egyptian and/or Levantine dialects. One of my professors is Iraqi, so we learn some Iraqi dialect in class. I'm encouraging him to develop courses on Iraqi Arabic. Two of my other professors are from the Levant, so we learn some Levantine dialect in those classes Most of the emphasis, though, is on MSA.

I do not speak arabic and I know so little about this, but, as far as I know, I saw that Levantine dialect is more similar to MSA than Egyptian dialect. I don't know about other dialects. MSA had its origins from Western-influenced Renaissances movements, and was founded in Egypt, Lebanon and Syria, so Levantine or Egyptian dialect must have more similarities to Modern Arabic.

Yeeeah my Libyan is not really hard to learn though! But (We have more Italian words) And it's similar to Tunisian exactly! there's sth interesting that the Tunisians pronunce the letters correctly just like in standard Arabic☀️. On the other hand Iraqi got those additional sounds from Persian! So, I actually think that Egyptian is the easiest to learn! 🙂

@@zeyadyahya1180 yeah but it’s really not many to the point where people can’t understand us. They just gotta listen closely and they’ll realize it’s not very different from other dialects. Benghazi accent is easier to understand too.

Is the maghrebi dialect worth knowing as it is soo different

I think that it's worth it to know at least some useful words, keep in mind that there's way more than 100 million Maghrebis, there's no standard Maghrebi dialect, but the most useful dialect would be Moroccan/Algerian.

@@SUBERDEE Very different from Egyptian, but if a Maghrebi speaker speaks slowly and replaces dialectal words with MSA, it's still possible to have a conversation.

This is kind of late, but I'm learning both MSA الفصحى and Egyptian. اللهجة مصرية. But with a focus in Egyptian. I've been learning for about 7-8 months now and I'm what i would call semi conversational, like i could get to Egypt and be fine getting around. But in depth conversations get challenging
