gotta love this guy! I trained at Aviator PPG, Lake Wales, Fl. USA One thing Greg never mentioned, Beware, this sport is highly addictive! If you have an issue with heights, trust me once you go above 50', all that goes out the window, do enjoy! NYC

I was watching the paragliders outside Lewes today. So glad to see you were there too. I’m so interested in giving this hobby a go. thanks for posting this video. Brilliant

Really appreciate these videos and all I have to add is that as a career helicopter pilot and now paraglider pilot remember that no matter how many years you may fly for, every day is still a learning experience. Fly neighborly, fly attentively and fly safe!

Watching this video brought tears to my eyes, the absolute enjoyment of being able to fly solo for the first time and land with radio guidance is unprecedented. 10/10 keep doing what you are doing!!!👍👍👍

A problem amplified by the weather apps marking flying sites on their maps.Many of these sites have private agreements between landowners and individual pilots.

Hi Greg, Thank you for this video. Forgive me for asking a question that you've probably answered somewhere here in the comments, but is there an accredited paragliding school anywhere near Pennsylvania, USA? Thank You! Ken

Simple Strobe light would be good for all pilots. ....... For safety. Can be also handy if you have to land in a bad spot .. And need to be Spotted !

Did your editor use a party stock video to illustrate "third party insurance"? XD

What is driving me crazy is the cost of a new wing has went up to $4000.

The whole reason for most people to fly is to get away from people , not fly with them , the amount of people doing this sport and also the nauseating characters is really a huge negative and makes me think it's not worth it , I can see crowds of people anywhere last place I want to see you is in the the sky sick and tired instructors and money leeches at every turn.
@abseil76 Жыл бұрын
You shouldn't let that get to you. Learn to fly, get better and better and your chances to fly at places with less crowd and possibly no crowd at all will increase big time.

Its true anyone learning would benefit from a "club" but the "karen" energy is strong and life long membership is not needed and just a virtue signal

Early on, while you're learning it's really good to be around other people. As a new pilot, you never want to be first off the mountain; Always pays to see someone more seasoned head up and get a feel for the conditions. And you learn a lot watching and talking with others who have been doing it longer than you have. If you're of the sort who wants to "get away", just think of that as part of the build up to being able to do XC or volbiv solo, where you're likely to be able to as far away from people as possible. Last point: Really don't think it's fair to paint instructors as "sick and tired ...money leeches". I think if you ask around, instructors are far from raking it in. They do it because they love it, and want to be able to share it with others.

You notice the absence of hang gliders at these sites....Greg should do a show on the killing of hang gliding in the UK by paragliding. I was there when this happened... By the way I flew both in the Southern club for nearly 20 years and Tim Cox sold me my first paragliding system much to the disappointment of my fellow hang glider pilots. The truth is that flying the Dyke on average days became deadly dangerous with dozens of paragliders blocking the path on any hang glider pilot who also wanted the "freedom of flight"
