Hi welcome!
I will share my 1 year experience modeling, printing and painting custom made anime figures.
Just a bit of introduction about myself
I started 3D modeling and figure painting at the end of 2022. I had no prior experience and learned everything from KZfaq. So want to share my work in the hopes that you may also step foot in this hobby.
This is a summary of my 1st year of character figure hobby.

Truly inspiring, I got a resin printer out of curiosity few years back and I always wanted to do custom prints but lack the skills to do so. I’ve been slowly learning blender and seeing your progression is definitely a good motivator, maybe even I can do it if I keep at it

such an amazing journey ! i hope it will keep going ! i am currently learning 2d animation/drawing on my own, i'd like to learn 3d and figure painting as well but trying to do all this while working at the same time is complicated ps: in the video you say that you started at the end of 2022 but in the desciption you say that you started at the end of 2023

Hi thank you so much! 2D animation also sounds great. Ya, I can imagine that trying to also do 3D and figure painting would be tough. But I think there might be quite a bit of overlap between the skills, so doing one will help you do the other. Thank you for pointing out the typo. Did not notice at all. Will go change that (on multiple videos...)

have you ever attempted a complex model that needs seperate part, I sculpted some cool warhhammer figures and a world of warcraft orc but I am not sure howto print this, it has so many intersecting parts and cavities

why did you chose blender over zbrush? i would very happy if you answer im a mechanical engineer and i began to learn blender and i just bought saturn 2 and im confused about should i use blender or zbrush for modeling

Thanks for the comment! I did briefly consider Zbrush as well but the main reason I chose Blender was because it was free and could do it all. I knew ZBrush has a free tier, but wanted to avoid limitations.

@@MofutoraModeling Could you share some learning resources that helped You the most along the journey? Most tutorials I found are not meant to be printed after making. Only for rendering and games. It's also hard to find better tutorials for specifically anime figures. T^T In Japanese is also fine.

That might be true. I found this link in my log. cgcookie.com/posts/how-to-prepare-objects-for-3d-printing-in-blender But I remember just trying stuff out. Turn off smooth shading. Use make manifold in the 3D print tools.

Thank you for the comment! This is subjective, but most of my art experience was limited to art class from school, and I was quite a lousy drawer... 3D modeling might have been a good match for me because, I could just endlessly tweak the model until it looks right
