How do I link GA4 to BigQuery is one of the most common questions that I get so here is a video that provides you step by step tutorial to transfer data from Google Analytics 4 to BigQuery
This video is a combination of my live session and pre-recorded video on BigQuery + Google Analytics 4 (GA4) sessions.
There are three steps to make data flow from Google Analytics 4 to BigQuery
1. A BigQuery Project where the data will be sent
2. Linking from GA4 admin panel
3. Enabling BigQuery APIs for GA4 data transfer
We will cover all these steps in detail in this video. Make sure to comment and like this video.

Thank you for sharing your professional knowledge. I have a question regarding to table expiration. We have billing account and I have changed Table expiration from 60 days to never last month. I have already checked GA4 and firebase and they also show no expiration date. However the data is available for the last 60 days in the tables in bigquery. Do I need to adjust something else in Google cloud or somewhere else to keep the data for longer time? I need the data at least for 1 year.

Hey, thanks for a great tutorial! I have one question. Is it possible the link multiple GA4 projects to single BigQuery project? So that all data from different apps (potentially thousands) will flow into one BigQuery project.

Thats a great work Anil, we have upgraded our service level from standard to 360 for one of property in GA4, i could see the streams flowing in but daily load is still not done. Do you think we are missing something. Thanks in advance..!!

Hi there, Previously my account have some billing account issue in BQ and stop syncing the GA4 data into BQ. Now already settled it. But I found that certain period of the data not synced automatically into BQ from GA4. Do anyone know how can I get back the missing period data back to BQ? Or it have been saved in somewhere else or Cloud Shell? Because there still data can be see in GA4. Just it dont export to Bigquery now, Or there is a way that I can export GA4 manually and import it to Bigquery manually? Thanks.

I don’t think there is a way to import the missing data at this time. Maybe a 3rd party develops a tool later but there isn’t one currently that I am aware of.

I have created this BQ-link. However my sessions in my online GA4 property and queries in BQ don't exactly match one-on-one. When i'm counting the session_start events, when im distinct counting the UserSessionID (concat of user_pseudo_id and session_id) there is some days a small difference between BQ and GA4. Any ideas on how to solve this? cause we need to be able to explain the differences to our customers but I can't find it anywhere... Thanks a lot in advance... you're awesome!

Great info and I got it all working...BUT...it creates a separate table for each day and a current day partial table. How the heck am I supposed to pull all that into Power BI and combine into one table I can actually do analytics with?! Not sure what google was thinking.

This exports raw event data from GA4 to BQ. Is there any way to also export all the metrics GA4 computes such as Bounce rate, average session duration etc ? Thank you

How can we backfill GA4 data in BigQuery? The connection is established as per your method but how to get the historic GA4 data also on Big Query?

You can not go back and fill it.

Unfortunately, there is a 1 million events per day limit for daily export...

I don’t think you need the same account but you need to have access to both the accounts.

GA4 query explorer (API) and GA4 export giving different numbers and the numbers are far different, have you ever faced this kind of issue?

Yes but you will need a third party tool and it is going to be expensive.
