I've gotten several requests for a more detailed video going over just how to get from a huge collection of bulk to a huge collection of listed for sale singles. So, I've delivered =] While I'm not going to show the whole collection being processed here, it's just a matter of scaling up the process I show for this small subset of cards. Hopefully this helps anyone who is just starting out! If you have any questions, feel free to comment below!
My website www.tcgbulkkings.com is the central hub to all my various social media enterprises. It's also got the bulk market information that I use to watch how the bulk market shifts over time. With the addition of the Shop, people can buy cards and things directly from me, and now bringing the membership service in-house rather than depending on a separate platform like Patreon I feel will really go a long way to making the site a destination for lots of people going forward. I hope you like the new additions! If you want to buy from the Shop or sell bulk to me, make sure you at least have a Free account, and if you want to support what I'm doing, or just get a decent discount in the Shop and a bit of free merch, go ahead and sign up for one of the Memberships! Cheers!

The main takeaway I got from this video is this. I will stop listing bulk until I hit rank 4 on TCG player and I am allowed access to the "pricing" button. I have wasted SO MANY HOURS of my life listing bulk as a rank 2-3 where you have to go through the inventory button and manually list each card one at at time for entire bulk magic and pokemon sets I have which takes like 10x as long then what you are showing off here. Oof. I'm just about to hit rank 4 and I have 9000 cards I listed manually on my store page, so I will be fine. Ether way thank you for the guide. I never though to do the first go over to get rid of the non NM cards. that's smart.

Hey man just started watching your videos today and I first want to thank you for the wisdom you’re dropping on here. Secondly, I’m really interested in getting into this adventure myself. I do have a couple of questions. Are you purely listing NM on tcgplayer? I heard you in the video say that anything under that you bundle up in some other way but do you do that to get max profit on the cards that you actually list NM. Also, do you have any tips on how to get started or a video on that sort of thing as well? Thank you for your time and content Brotha.

Hey glad I can help! Yes I only sell NM singles, because I really don't want to have to deal with customer service issues. In my experience, condition is the main cause of customer complaint, and I try to avoid any reason for complaint. I occasionally sell LP+ bulk lots to people seeking them on Facebook. I've been thinking about how to do a get started type video, I'll probably have one out sometime in the next couple months

First I want to say thank you for the information on the direct program and bulk because I got accepted today with your help! I was wondering do you keep your prices at your floor or did you adjust them after getting into the program? And how did you prepare for the influx of orders?
@TCGBulkKings
@TCGBulkKings Жыл бұрын
First, thanks so much for letting me know I've helped you; that means a lot to me. Second, congratulations! Getting into Direct it seems is always a little harder than it should be. Thirdly, I still maintain a floor of $.05 for C/U. That still maintains some level of profit through Direct with the cost of the card and the fees. Finally, I *didn't* prepare for the influx of orders, it was a big surprise for me. Helpfully, you don't have to process the orders immediately, since you get to send them in with your Reimbursement rather than the next day.
@rogueinvestor2375
@rogueinvestor2375 10 ай бұрын
@@TCGBulkKings They make Direct hard to get into because they don't want to become the bulk dump bin for sellers. If it's easy to get into, everyone would get in and dump their bulk onto TCGplayer, which I can imagine would overwhelm their storage facilities. Large quantities of cards do take a lot of real estate.

Glad you've liked it! Yes, the principle is basically the same for any game. Pull out what you don't want to list, or separate by grade if you are listing multiple grades. Set sort, alphabetize within sets, and list on the website by working down the page. It is definitely work, but just a bit of thought ahead of time greatly reduces the amount of work to a much more manageable level

Basically yes. There is an integration step, where you have to insert your newly alphabetized stack of inventory into your previously alphabetized presumably much larger stack of inventory. Just another bit of process so it's all super simple to find a card 6 months from now when it actually sells.

I just started selling on TCGPlayer. What price would you recommend I set for pricing? Lv1 sellers have a minimum of 99¢ for shipping. If you have a full list of uncommons/commons from a set, do you organize, alphabetize, and list every single card? Even if the marketplace for a bunch of them is only .01? Or do you have a threshold that the card needs to meet for the marketplace before you list it?
@TCGBulkKings
@TCGBulkKings Жыл бұрын
I list it all, but I won't set my price below a certain limit, even if others do. Usually that limit is $.05, but it's different sometimes across different games and acquisition costs. It sells eventually - I get surprising sales every day. Sometimes it's people who like my 100% feedback, sometimes it's people who want 75 copies of the same common, and sometimes the market price rises to meet my floor

Thanks for demonstrating your process, this was helpful. Question - is it worth the time and labor to list so many penny cards? I can see it being worthwhile if people are buying large quantities of cards at once consistently, but I can also see the effort netting negative returns with all things considered (i.e. low sales or many people purchasing small orders thus compounding shipping fees).
@TCGBulkKings
@TCGBulkKings 2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad it's helpful! My answer is that it is absolutely worth it to list everything. Firstly, I'm in the TCGplayer Direct program, which changes things a bit, but that is a relatively recent development in my business model. Even before I joined Direct, I was listing everything. I'm disciplined about not selling below some floor price that I determine (video on that coming before long). If someone buys a single card at this floor, I will lose a little bit - but not much. That loss is made up quite a bit by orders of only a few cards, or orders for cards slightly above the floor which are profitable. It's worth it to me to have those cards available, because in aggregate it generates a significant income. Also, a big part of my goal for the whole process is to get really stinkin' good at the process, driving costs down, and really making it as a volume single card seller.

You can scan with your phone in the app, and have it generate a .csv file that you can then upload to your inventory. But. You have to check to make sure it scans the right card, and then it needs to be organized so that you can easily pull the cards when they sell. If you're selling thousands of cards per month, it's going to take some time and work.

Thank you for this, but I need some help. TCGplayer says that the lowest price for an item is listed at the top of the list, but it's different depending on whether you're looking at Price+Shipping vs Item Price only. Price + Shipping might show the lowest price to be .25+.99 shipping and Item Price Only shows the lowest price as .10+.99 shipping. Which one should I be matching, price+shipping or item price only? And do you use the price differential report at all?
@TCGBulkKings
@TCGBulkKings 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Stephen! So TCGplayer list items according to what they call Dynamic Shipping. If you have a required shipping cost, like $.99 for any order, it will just you own at the item price plus the shipping price. If you have the free shipping option available as a level 4 seller, your own will be listed at the item price only with a "free shipping for orders over $5" or whatever blurb along with the listing. An item for $.15 with a free shipping option will be listed as cheaper than an item for $.15+.99 shipping, even if the customer would have to pay $.99 shipping if they don't reach $5 on their order

That depends entirely on how much work you are willing to put in and how much of its entire value you wish to extract. More effort means more value. You can sort and list everything on TCGplayer, or you can put the whole collection on an eBay auction or a Facebook marketplace listing, and everything in between. If you want to go the former route, stick around, because that's the way I've gone and that's what I talk about a lot. If you want value faster, I would pull out the cards you think are valuable, maybe by scanning them with the TCGplayer app, and seem those individually, and then sell the bulk to one of the places on my bulk buylist page on my website, tcgbulkkings.com

Also, do you have a floor price for rares and mythics? Still trying to make up my own price for lands and tokens. Thanks!
@TCGBulkKings
@TCGBulkKings 2 жыл бұрын
I have mine set to free shipping. However, on any order under $5, TCGplayer will automatically add a $.78 shipping charge. If I set my card above $5, it will show as free shipping, below $5 it will show as $X.XX + $.78 shipping. This is for non-Direct. For Direct listings, it shows the price, and has a blub about free shipping on orders over $35. I have nothing to do with shipping there, that is TCGplayer's deal. My floor prices are different for different games. For Magic and Flesh and Blood, that floor price for rares is $.20; for Pokemon, it's $.25. I don't have a floor for mythics/majestics/ultra rares/&c., I consider all such cards as non-bulk and price them with the market wherever it's at.

Hey Evan! It's relatively rare that I sell a single card in an order. Because I have a huge inventory, most orders I receive have multiple cards in them, and most of the ones that don't are purchased through Direct, which is its own separate beast. Shipping costs don't increase nearly as quickly as the costs to ship, so I'm only losing on a few orders, and only a miniscule amount is lost on those. When I began my bulk selling adventure, I was buying stamps discounted from face value on eBay. But it turned out that most of those were counterfeit. There was a big crash last year in stamp prices, after which eBay cracked down on all the likely counterfeit stamp sellers. Since it's pretty much impossible to tell counterfeits from real stamps before they actually arrive, and I can't really have my capital tied up for that long (and because the logistics of waiting for stamps to arrive were killing me), I decided it was much better to simply accept regular stamp pricing and figure out how to trim costs in other areas. Now, I am not accusing Andrew here of anything, but I just don't ever really want to mess with stamps I don't get from an official stamp vendor anymore. Not only because they fluctuate in price or because they can take a while to show up or because the source may be cut off, but because of the business I'm in, I HATE counterfeits.
