This is a video I've long waited for, and yes, it contained very pertinent messages. My only disappointment was that it was not a longer video, with shots taken from the Tun's actual daily life, both of the routine and the non-routine variety, from say, 6am till his bedtime. It is not because everyone wants or expects to live near 100, but it is such a delight when one can learn the many 'paths' and yes, ' tricks' the Tun has in managing his life (and family, esp. his dear wife, who is also going strong by the way) to this time. Congratulations Tun, I dare say, and to the interviewer, I hope there's more, and soon!

ON MALAYSIA’S LANGKAWI ISLAND, LOCAL folklore tells the tale of Mahsuri, a maiden who lived there in the late 18th century. The story goes that she was engaged to a warrior, Wan Darus, who left Langkawi for battle, and in his absence, Mahsuri befriended a wandering minstrel. Upon returning from battle, Wan Darus accused Mahsuri of infidelity, something she vehemently denied. Mahsuri was tied to a tree for days while maintaining her innocence, but none of the islanders believed her. On the day of her execution, they tried many ways of killing her but nothing would puncture her skin. She finally told them to kill her with her father’s ceremonial keris, a type of dagger. When they stabbed her, white blood flowed from Mahsuri’s wound, signifying her innocence. With her final dying breath, Mahsuri cursed the island of Langkawi for seven generations. Following her death, the island suffered many hardships, leading the local people to believe in her curse. There is a museum built around her grave, and a room portraying the story in life-size scenes.

The Malays believe in spirits called Saka there was a case of a granny who looked younger than her age, the grandchildren engaged a bomoh to come and attend to her, her face look young but her legs were that of an old woman. Xray showed her with needles inserted in her face. when the needles were removed through chants the woman fainted on recovering, she looked old.As for Mahathir, who knows.

He is forward thinking and was instrumental to whet the appetites of his people for riches. Just look at the Forbes list of the 50 richest in the country. Draw your conclusions. He is a disciplined workaholic that you don’t find wasting his time in nightclubs like the many scoundrels around him. Now they are hammering him left, right and centre. What a shame! Heavy is the head that wears the crown. He dismantled religious sects like Al Arqam, tackled George Soros, helped Bosnia, implemented affirmative actions to pull up the weaker segment of the majority society (long story, could write a book on this, any idiot could see what the consequences would be if he had not done so) to ensure balance and peace, yet continuously facing endless criticisms by racist ungrateful smart aleck morons (given one inch they want a yard) many the 9 to 5 working class types who delight in taking never-ending potshots at him from the comfort of their sofas, and the list goes on. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Insatiable greed and herd instinct mentality of the many self-interested lot are blindly following the pipe piper and gaining grounds. Why? Most unfortunately he has uncountable scoundrels around him and many took advantage of him (use your imagination and connect the dots) and that cast a shadow over his contributions. He attended hundreds of meetings and signed thousands of cheques. His inner circles are mostly dead and buried and very few can speak for him now. Of course he had made bold ventures and some failed. What is he for if he does not do that. No venture no gain. In many countries you criticize the leadership for their shortcomings, chances are you end up locked in a windowless room. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. There are scoundrels and fair weather friends around a leader. Stretch your imagination. Thank your lucky star you have had Tun as leader.

His main advantage is a well maintained mind but the fact is that he was lucky enough to be born with a healthy brain. The rest was using his mamak skills to hustle like mad to keep himself relevant and also amassing a secret wealth fund. That’s it. The biggest obstacle to a long and healthy life is neurological degeneration where the mental capacity to keep body and soul working well together breaks down. Mahathir is not a gifted statesman.

What healthy aging are you all talking about Mahathir? He has had 3 heart surgeries and has been admitted to IJN multiple times for heart ailments. That's what you refer to as healthy aging, huh? Due to his wealth and billionaire children, he has access to the most recent medical advancements, enabling him to live for a long time. This is not the case for ordinary people. If all the sons and daughters of ordinary people were billionaires like his, then every common Malaysian could age healthily even better than him. Don't advertise him as an example of healthy aging to the public. He is not a genuine model to follow. Identify individuals among the general public who have endured the hardships of life and are aging well to encourage the public to live a healthy lifestyle.

He said it…as long as you dont hv terminal illnesses like cancer etc…everyone has a chance to live longer provided living with moderation and discipline. we have many rich and aristocrat in msia and even his ex counterpart sg sm LKY which have same access as tun but how come they all didnt mke it. Or in the most sophisticated country i.e usa,europe,middle east

He didn't eat fish because of mercury, he stops eating before full. How many can do that? Yeah he got money to get the best treatment but its because his discipline that he had longevity.
