I am a petite with long legs but I think that would also help those with short legs. Flats that have no extra details and cover most of the foot make my legs look even longer. Appliqués usually interrupt the line and shorten it.

Chi, you nailed it with this video! I laughed at the 5'4", 5'4", 5'4" echo! I have those same Cole Haan flats but in black and they are so comfy. I hate square toed shoes, they look like from that old movie "The Witches" who wore square toed shoes because they didn't have toes...

Chi, all these tips are tried and true! I used to have most of my shoes black. Your videos introduced nude shoes to me. They are really game changer. I have them in boots, in close toe dress shoes, and in open toe sandals. They make dressing a lot easier as they go with everything and make my legs look longer. I have other colors of shoes too! I've learned so much about fashion since watching your videos! I'm 5 foot 0. I've learned to wear nude shoes most of the time. I now own numerous nude shoes in all styles and heel heights. I've just ordered a pair of nude espadrille sling back sandals to wear with skirts and my summer white jeans. Black shoes or boots only with black pants. The shoe most definitely makes or breaks the outfit.

These tips have been so helpful! I am 66 and can no longer wear even a tiny heel due to foot pain. But I have short legs and large feet, so flat shoes can look dreadful on me, and because of this I haven't worn a skirt or dress in years. In fact I don't even own any! But I'm going to try your suggestions, and hopefully get back into wearing skirts. Also, I think nude shoes look so glamorous! I had a pair years ago, but I had forgotten about them. Thank you x

This channel is really helpful. Wished that I found it earlier. Some of this I learned by buying especially the square toes. My friends buys those and but it was never flattering on me. Hahaha. Rounded and pointed really elongates my legs.

The black shoes + black tighs trick works also with other colors (navy, dark red, brown, pink for that matter...). And another tip: avoid shoes / boots with loose shaft or a lot of volume/accessoires at the ankle - same reason like with the ankle strap: you don't want anything to break up the line. :)

Thank you for the tips on flats. I'm 75 and don't have the balance I used to have, so the need for flats is real. The orthopedic specialist who replaced my knees advised me not to fall. But I don't want to look frumpy. I'm willing to pay for well engineered shoes though the lace up ugly shoes are beyond the pale.

If you don’t like rounded toe flats or pointed toe, try almond toe! It’s the best of both worlds!
