Do you always struggle to look taller because you have short legs and a long torso? Today I'm going to give you some tips on how to look taller and the basics on how to style a long torso and short legs. And remember all bodies are beautiful!

i am usually a silent viewer overall but i just have to comment that you taught me i have a long torso and short legs. suddenly my clothes preferences make senses. i always subconsciously like outfits that complement my legs over my top and always hated wearing things that didn't, i didn't know what made me hate them. thank you so much, you have me rethinking my wardrobe!!

Jumpsuits and rompers do not work because most of them are made for women with shorter torsos.

As soon as I heard her say that jumpsuits and rompers are perfect for long torsos and short legs, I was thinking, no that is the worst thing you can wear. It pronounces your long torso, especially from behind. It is always too short in the stride . Big sigh….

It would be helpful to use clothes models with short legs and longer torsos. The pictures you used were of long legged models.

Question (I do have long torso/short legs). getting back into sewing.... got a pattern for a dress (Vogue 8805) which uses "color blocking" (3 sections) ....planning to use a small print for top.... darker solid for midsection... and middle of the road textured solid for bottom .... Any thoughts ? Thank you! Love your video!

Either cropped or kinda short with high waisted, or pretty long. Avoid jackets that stop at your knee, will make your legs look shorter 🥰

I highly disagree with these. (Open replies for full advice) I have the body type ur talking about. 1. Do not buy one pieces that connect between the legs, aka jumpsuits, minidresses with shorts sawn in 2. Do not buy high waisted dresses, etc. Actually go for low waist dresses. Let me explain: when you wear a dress, it looks the most flattering when it singes at the waist (where there are no ribs). If you have a long torso, chances are regular waists singe too high at the ribs, which is the widest part of your torso. If you go for high waisted, it will singe under the chest, making you look "pregnant". However, if you go for low rise dresses, it will singe right at the waist for longer torso girlies...

3. I recommend you to avoid mini skirts too, since they often end up accentuating where the torso ends. Instead, go for flowy midi skirts that singe at the waist.

4. Avoid crop tops because they will look like a bra (too short). Instead go for standard length t-shirts and pair them with high waisted jeans. It will make it look proportional

5. Do not go for regular sized pants. Try short, even if you are a tall girl like me. Chances are, short size will fit you better. (My best jeans are 24 short, high rise) If you go for regular length, it will cause the fabric to bunch up at the knees/heels, causing your legs to look short (think how wearing your bf's oversized sweater makes you look smaller. Wearing things that don't tailor to you will cause that part of your body to look smaller) So instead, try oversized regular length puffer jacket (for ex) with high rise, short pants that fit you at the waist. If you have volume in your thigh/butt area, try more stretchy denim. For instance, abecrombie and fitch has smth like "curvy love" or "love curvy" (smth like that), it will accommodate your leg shape better.

6. Wear heels. It's a foolproof way to elongate your legs. Find the heel height that is the most comfortable (for me, it's 3.5 in. 4 in feels a little too high. And ~2 in doesn't give my feet enough support, causing pain in my toes)

7. I don't believe that you shouldn't wear low rise. If you have a good hip to waist ratio, it will look very flattering for your jeans, let's say, to start at the widest point. Wear it with a fitted top that "hugs" your waist. The only thing I will say is, wear heels. Absolutely wear heels if you go for low rise.
