I get your point but everyone's not attractive. Everyone are meant to be tho. The reason these models tend to get hate is because they are envious obv, but also because these models don't fully conform to the Western standards or any other standards for that matter. People just find them unique and not familiar due to not having averageness with respect to their general population. Also most models are malnourished to look skinny this is not healthy at all and does deserve the hate that it gets

The biggest consistent thing I've noticed in modeling are the requirement for wide set eyes, a protracted (strong) jawline, fuller lips, high cheekbones, and of course height. It's extremely rare to see a model with a recessed jaw (as the lips are thinner, the eyes more close set, the face flatter or concave, and the person is generally less attractive)

I do find it interesting I meet a lot of men who do not like tall women, and they actually find a lot of models to not be attractive. Their words (extremely ugly) . I do wonder if the modeling industry is pushing so far in finding extreme faces and looks that being a model is no longer the standard for attractiveness. As an artist I have an appreciation of all the strong dimorphic features however I am inclined to agree that the most attractive women I have met were not in the modeling category and many of the modeling looks come off far too aggressive or alien for me to ever aspire or idolize as an epitome of attractiveness. It would be interesting to see a study on if models in the modeling industry were rated highly for attractiveness among males and females compared to women on Instagram/ or not in the modeling industry. Thank you for the content as always :)

I think it’s because most people are not tall so most men are not tall. Yes your average man is taller than your average women. However your average man is not necessarily taller than a taller than average women. And straight men tend to want a women who doesn’t exceed them in height. When it comes to tall men I don’t think they’re hung up on a women’s height and more concerned with her overall beauty. At least I’ve never heard a tall man talk about his distain for tall women.

I used to model but since I wasn’t tall or lanky enough for runway it was mostly print and promotional. It can be fun and glamorous but back in the ‘90s there was also a lot of sexual harassment, fetishizing, etc. On one shoot I was a teenager and had to pose with a much older man who was in a bathtub. I was all wetted down in a sheer dress and he was in swim trunks. It was very uncomfortable and the designer apologized to me later for that. He held onto my hips even when the camera wasn’t shooting, and he was the photographer’s boyfriend! And it’s rare to be able to make a living from that alone. I’m really glad to see more diversity now! Hopefully there’ll be more inclusion for older gals and maybe I’ll get work again❤

When I was in my teens and early 20s, I was naturally quite thin (like size 2 or 0). Back then, I thought maybe I could become a print model, due to being 5’3”. Also, I thought that being East Asian (specifically Korean) would make me standout. I even took modeling classes and briefly went to NYC for a model/talent competition. However, it ended up being a waste of money. This was also before Asian models became popular. Now that I’m in my early 40s, I have an average (size 6-8) figure. Aging definitely slows metabolism. However, I do take steps in order to slow down aging, such as skincare, eat less and exercise more, drink green tea daily, etc.. While I’m glad there’s more racial and size diversity in the modeling industry, it’s still a very competitive and challenging field to become successful in.

I just think the "mature" features like high cheekbones are naturally attractive because they signal sexual maturity. So it makes sence that a female face with a mix of neotenous AND mature features would be more attractive than a female face that just looks like a childs face. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Speaking of your comment that's not true. Because men like youthful girls are considered cuteness and politeness to those with baby faces, also many men around the world don't like girls who look older and have these bone like structures. I myself have a baby face and I'm proud of it because it's clear and youthful and many people considered me cute and beautiful they don't consider that unattractive and the baby faces don't need so much makeup either and many actresses have small faces with no cheekbones. And you're wrong not everyone considers cheekbone women sexy

And the more Younger the better i know many cheekbone girls that were rejected. People look at the personality that makes a person attractive not who has high cheekbone or not. Many cultures love a heart shaped and round face if you have cheekbones and your face is full of acne and breakouts you won't be considered as attractive and western models especially American models are not exotic excuse me. Some weren't that tall (even shorter than me, and I'm 1.73m/5 ft, 8.1 in), one was VERY bandy-legged, another was scrawny and not well-proportioned, and the others had really plain, unattractive facial features. When they walked the runway, they had tons of makeup on, so you couldn't tell, but I expected a top brand presenting its new high fashion collection to be more selective, considering that those models came from all over the world... At least I would expect that wouldn't pound in the same standards for most people to compare themselves against. @@bambooprincess3495 Playboy Playmate centerfolds WERE ABSOLUTELY PROFESSIONAL MODELS. They were professional nude models and obviously had the bodies of professional swimsuit/lingerie/fitness models. Those Playmate centerfolds, pictorial models, cover models, promotional models and Playboy Bunnies were all chosen out of tens of thousands of young women who thought they could do professional modeling because they were lean, voluptuous, athletic, photogenic and sultry-looking. The average-looking women in those days didn't even entertain the THOUGHT of just trying out for that magazine - the most popular and successful men's magazine of ALL TIME!! So, yes, these young women WERE actually professional models. They WEREN'T sex workers. They were chosen by corporate enterprises to pose for EXTREMELY LIMITED POSITIONS - no pun intended. There were SO FEW ACTUALLY CHOSEN by top-level executives in the publishing/entertainment/modeling business. IG "models" are mainly "influencers" who chose THEMSELVES to pose for their own photoshopped/digitalized artistic pics. It's a great marketing strategy to tag themselves as "models." I know there are women out there who feel bad about their bodies. They (probably) compare themselves to the MOST STUNNING images on social media, or the best-looking actresses/models in the media. There's NOTHING WRONG with having high standards and comparing oneself to gorgeous women in the media!! But if any woman does that, she should compare herself to someone she resembles - NOT someone who ISN'T REALISTIC FOR HER!! If she doesn't measure up in ANY way, shape or form, she'll just feel MISERABLE, and possibly worse!! Not good! People need to be realistic in their self-perceptions AND to receive GENUINE feedback from others IRL - in person. Lies and exaggerations to make others feel better AREN'T necessary beneficial!!

@@bambooprincess3495 The fashion models have SPECTACULAR VIDEOGRAPHY/LIGHTING on those runways!!! You see them on TV and it's like a photoshopped video. In person, the special lighting helps to make them look polished and perfected. Imho, fashion models were always TOO tall. The slightly shorter or average-height lingerie models LOOK BETTER with idealistic measurements and a voluptuous, but lean physique. They DON'T look too thin... They look well-proportioned - not too thin and not too curvy. Those 90's Playboy centerfolds WERE IDEALISTIC - more than the overly tall and lean supermodels. They actually had better bodies and many were perfectly proportionate.

@@bambooprincess3495 It's at 4:20 when he mentions promotional modeling agencies/gigs. I did promotional modeling/sales for Victoria's Secret fragrance boutiques during the holiday season, when they FIRST opened up. That's just one example. There were a lot products different products to promote that required a specific look that attracted attention, a friendly personality and sales skills. Instead of just hiring sales people, some companies opted to hire 'promotional models' to sell their products, knowing they'd make more money through specific in-person promotions. I also did club promotions for Budweiser but I didn't like the environments. Great money tho. Personally, I wouldn't want to be a fashion model. If I had been tall, I would have sucked at competitive gymnastics. I would NEVER trade in my experiences in gymnastics for a few modeling gigs. I was a strong little girl BEFORE the gymnastics. And having a strong, athletic and aesthetic-looking body as a teen, WITHOUT having to work at it at all, was an absolute gift I'm grateful for.

"Runway fashion shows have department store lighting." "They don't use professional photography/lighting for outdoor shoots." "All former Playboy centerfolds and models were just desperate girls. They weren't genuinely gorgeous, photogenic or talented." The above sentences you wrote were all trolling. This could have been an interesting discussion but you had to ruin it with false sentences and info. As far as Jenny McCarthy, I read her autobiography a long time ago, and I'm genuinely HAPPY for her that she was able to turn a possible negative experience into an extremely successful and admirable career in media entertainment!!! She did EXTREMELY WELL for herself!! Her beauty and sex symbol status, besides her personality, wit, intelligence, toughness and perseverance, helped her achieve it!! As far as Hooters Girls, they HAVE to look great in their little outfits every day. That plays a huge role in the kind of tips and regular clientele they get on a regular basis. So no, Hooters management can't just hire anybody - no pun intended. I was scouted at one of the most overpopulated and upscale malls in the US to work as a Hooters Girl. Two corporate reps picked me out of hundreds of young women that day. That had to mean I was above average in looks - both face and body.

I've noticed that for women, the "no make up" make up look + classic/smart casual clothing style is the best option: you'll less likely be infantalized, dismissed, or overlooked, and people will actually listen to you when you talk! However, if your main goal is to trigger sympathy and protectiveness in people, maybe try a more innocent look: pastel colors, florals, etc. Having a very child-like cherub face also helps a lot; people with such look do struggle more with being taken seriously though. Just my observations.

Many friends of mine have frigging beer bellies and STILL have a jawline. I need to keep my body in a semi-skeleton state to have any facial definition. I go from looking like an absolute trash nerd to getting called "handsome" and "hot" all the time within about 20 pounds of bodyweight. It seems to get better with age, past 30 now it gets easier to keep a leaner face, but it is pretty damn frustrating... why is my face so lipophilic 😂

I don't know if you already adressed it but if you didn't that would be interesting if you could address how relatively speaking the modeling world is more "open" to differences for women but for men the standards diverge less apparently. For example for women there is regular model but also petite, there are also the plus size models, women can be extremely androgynous to some level where they look like young boys(not in a derogatory way), or they can be the typical highly ultra féminine while I find that men Modeling is much harsher. Even the more féminine men, and non typical male models fall unto very harsh standards, they are all extremely tall, I don't hear of any plus size male model who gaine popularity, even the features of male models seem more cemented for women I find the racial ambiguity more apparent but for men its not so much the racial ambiguity but the same feature with different skin tones. And male models seems to have kept the same look for a long time while women are more various.

Modeling is about clothes. They are tall so the clothes are more visible on them and thin so you dont check out their bodies but the clothes. So don't think you are unattractive as models are hired more on distinctive or androgynous looking faces with bodies that are not feminime usually. Many women falsely think models are the beauty standard. But most model women are a turn off for most men. The fat models is just wokeness as someone else says. They actually are more noticeable than shorter people and you definitely look more at their body shape then the clothes which a model shouldn't do. But dont be turned off it has nothing to do with what is actually attractive ....at all.
